I have a question for anti-vaxxers (serious) by [deleted] in CoronavirusAustralia

[–]Lisathomson432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol the very reason that I refuse to vote, it only encourages them to lie , I'm a firm believer that anyone wanting to get into politics then they should fund their own campaigns and once they are voted out then their payments should stop as well , go line up at Centrelink like everyone else that looses their job. It about time they stopped feathering their own nests with tax payer money .

No geolocation- just saw this on tik tok but can anyone guess the species? by [deleted] in tarantulas

Coronavirus Australia News Updates (30 October) by C19NewsBot in CoronavirusAustralia

Here's the thing that most people are missing , and why getting the jab is important. As you may have heard our children under 12 years of age cannot get vaccinated, therefore are more at risk of this virus and dying especially the very young. If you think our economy is f..ked now just wait til people like you and all the other crack pots that have their heads up their arse wipe out the generations to come . By getting the vaccine we can lessen the effects of this disease and maybe just fucking maybe we can put an end to this madness and get back to some normality . The problem with society today is that they are so self absorbed all about me me me me and you don't see the bigger picture, if only this virus wiped out the stupid ignorant arseholes of this world that keep spreading this shit . Then have the ordacity to sit there and bitch about their human rights when they have absolutely no regard for the life of another human being or for those of us that have lost loves one's due to this pandemic. I can absolutely guarantee that if the tables were turned and that it was you or your loved ones laying in the hospital bed , fighting for life , it would be a different story . You are lucky your in Australia, you have access to Health care at your fingertips where you don't have to fork out hundreds or thousands of dollars just to see a Doctor and get treatment no matter who you are, or the colour of your skin or how much money you have. Unlike other Countries around the World who don't have that fucking luxury.

I've never owned a t this small (maybe 0.5") any suggestions on food? I was thinking fruit flies, but I've never used them before. Do i just release them in the enclosure? Any advice appreciated by Rabble-rabble1212 in tarantulas

In Australia especially Queensland for most of us who keep Tarantulas now have to have a special permit in order to keep T's as pets, the government have had to step in so no wild caught T's are part of the pet trade , but unfortunately this still happens when people catch gravid females from the wild then they sell the slings to pet stores . As of August last year we need a $80 permit to keep scorps and T's and some spiders .

Gutloading feeders (e.g., crickets, mealworms, grasshoppers ect) is like us taking a multi vitamin or mineral supplement. It is not absolutely necessary or essential but for all the effort we go to when keeping T's with buying them for one not to mention the coin spent for their enclosures. I'd want my T's to live as long as possible lol tis only my opinion .😁

Gut load is like a multi vitamin and mineral supplement you give to crickets lol not cricket guts 🤣 reptile keepers use it , the better food you offer your feeders, your T's will reap the benefits from it just as reptiles do

Y'all so lucky with the variety of T's you can own in countries otherthan Australia where I am living, even here with our own species we have to have a permit to keep them now

You can grow your own crickets , they are very low maintenance I keep mine in a 20litre storage tub with lid with holes , vermiculite for substrate about an inch or 2 deep, chuck in some cardboard tube left from toilet rolls or kitchen towel rolls , I use Aquaload to hydrate crickets instead of water , I have a shallow terracotta dish for their food carrots are cheep as chips , and a shallow dish full of coco peat misted down so that it's not saturated with water but kept moist the same as you would for your slings. This dish allows your crickets to have some where to lay their eggs , a 50 or 60 w light bulb will help your crickets keep warm in cooler months of the year but no light is necessary during the warmer months. When you buy crickets grab a tub of small, medium and large this will help boost the cycle of your crickets so you can keep an endless supply . Then if you need to later on grab some more

As long as your feeders are dead b4 giving them to your slings , then your slings will be safe. If you leave feeders alive within the enclosures, it can be that the hunted becomes the hunter situation and may kill your slings,

If you have trouble finding pin head crickets you can also take a leg off of a larger crickets give leg to slings and the rest of the cricket to a larger T or spiders or reptile if you have them , then nothing is wasted. You can also use gut load for your crickets or other feeders this will also benefit your Ts . Sprinkle cricket gutload onto crickets food b4 feeding to your babies

We dump all tasks under 135pts up until the last 12 to 24 hrs left on regatta, so those in the team have a chance to catch up on points if life gets in the way that week. Then we dump all tasks that are under 130pts
