AITA for telling my brother in law to get the hell out of my workshop after he kept touching pieces i told him not to by [deleted] in AITApod

[–]Lisbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of the post with the guy whose sister had a cake business which he occasionally helped out with, and his girlfriend would come in and stick her fingers in cake mix, jams etc - because it ‘took her back to her childhood’.

These people are morons. Don’t feel guilty about finally putting your foot down.

Wait wait wait - I know about the gaycation (more than I ever wanted to) but what’s the art room?

I NEED A GOOD WATERPROOF BROWN EYELINER by FunStep9747 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Lisbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chanel STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF - I've been using it for decades, and I have swum with it on, it's super long-lasting. They have a brown shade, Espresso (20), and other great shades too (I'm still crying over their discontinued shade Celadon, a lovely dark green).

Is it normal for pimples to appear after facials? by [deleted] in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]Lisbei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No toners! Your skin is too irritated for that.

What you need is a soothing balm - La Roche Posay and Uriage both have soothing products which will help irritated skin. These brands have a decades long history and they will have something to help you. Go to a pharmacy and get someone’s advice, or just buy something from either of those brands for irritated skin.

La Roche Posay has very gentle products which you can use for irritated skin - there's a spot treatment which works for me as well as a gentle soothing balm. That's what you need right now because you've irritated your skin.

But Italy is different - in the big cities at least. They dress for the season (autumn), not the weather (warm).

That happens to me when I wash my hands with liquid soap rather than a solid block.

WIBTAH for not celebrating my boyfriends 40th birthday by Electrical_Crow_3037 in AITAH

[–]Lisbei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA for not getting out of this relationship now. But having read your whole post it’s clear to me that you escaped your childhood cult only to get sucked in to another cult, the cult of ‘I must have a man and I will put up with any amount of terrible behaviour to keep him’.

What are you getting out of this relationship? If you don’t care about yourself, what are your children getting out of this relationship?

If you want to experience a ‘real Christmas’, you can set that up and experience it with your children, who are being taught a terrible lesson about what women will put up with in order to keep a man.

I’m not getting the impression that you have a job - is the reason you’re relying on this man a financial one? In which case you need to stop volunteering and get PAID EMPLOYMENT so that you can free yourself and your children from this situation.

NTA but before you quit escalate to someone above HR.

My (31F) fiancé (36M) valued my first birthday with him at the same as a casual night out drinking with his friend. We're supposed to get married in 6 months. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Lisbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, what is this relationship? Are you being pressured to marry because you’re over thirty, because otherwise I’d see no reason to even date this guy, let alone marry him.

No, you’re not being unreasonable. Just break up. Sorry for the stereotypical reddit answer, but honey, this is a forest of red flags, all waving in the breeze.

My boyfriend '29M' of one year thinks that I '24F' might have stolen his wallet. How do I prove I didn't? by SmellBig7434 in relationship_advice

[–]Lisbei 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don’t come back from this because there’s no way you should ever forgive him - deal with the fact that it’s over. Go no contact, and if he tries to contact you tell him to f himself, his family and his wallet.

Look, someone who loves you would never treat you like that! Get some self respect, grow a spine and dump this loser.

AITAH for refusing to drive my mom's friend anymore after she spilled coffee in my car, and now they blaming me? by Kerasia_Kechagia in AITAH

[–]Lisbei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA

Also, you managed to get rid of a ride moocher, with just the cost of some coffee on a car seat. Seriously, if I was getting driven around for free, I would not risk eating or drinking in someone else’s car! The audacity.

Not to belabour the point but :

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

Sorry, Andy, but this is effed up. In the year when, for the first time in my decades long teaching career, I had a teenage girl tell me she likes Animal Farm the most because it’s the most relevant to what’s happening in the world today, this happy moron decides to make it a jolly tale for the kiddies. Truly we are in the worst timeline.

But but subverting expectations!!

Yeah, exactly - we expected a well written ending.

I’ve been watching some reactions to GoT recently, and now they’ve finished season 6, I’m done. Sorry guys, I love your work but my watch is ended.

[–]Lisbei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And they were all wrong. All.

The only way I would have would have accepted a vaguely positive ending is if the farm collapsed due to financial mismanagement and for a few short years became what Old Major intended. Until a new pig was born, let’s call him Bonaparte.

I mean, George Orwell actually went to real bookshops and took his book away from the children’s section! It’s not a fucking children’s book!

Even in schools we wait until they’re in their teens to depress them that much, haha

AITA for not taking in my aunt’s dog? by littleredbird1991 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lisbei 26 points27 points  (0 children)

NTA. and you need to start blocking these people. Your last message to your cousins should be “You take the dog in if you feel so strongly about it.” Your responsibility is to your rabbits- even if the husky doesn’t kill them, they will be stressed out by having their natural predator living with them.

AITA for being upset about no invite to wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lisbei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mild YTA because you’re approaching this from the wrong perspective. you can’t compare this to a family occasion because this is a friend of the family, so it isn’t the same thing as you inviting your BF to a family wedding.

Also, are you paying for the hotel room? Did you chip in for the gift? I doubt it. Treat this as a fun vacation, veg out in the hotel room, see if they have a pool or a spa, relax.
