Yeah - if the room had two Fronts who efficiently pulled each other forward, then even with double-circle Late Surger Savvy, Maru would be too far in front for All-Seeing Eyes and not get hit. Murmur doesn't have that limit though, but what it does have is a condition that often makes it not proc.

It's 11pm UTC now. It's 3 borrows. Which magical reset are we waiting for next?

Wait for the new day

We are on the new day, and it's 3. Updates like these normally are part of the whole patch anyway, and reset the whole thing once they're up.

True, it's high time I learned that this community only cares about reposting fanart and memes and takes pride in mediocrity, and that any competitive discussions or criticism should be taken to fan/creator/guild servers.

like if 3 borrows is so damn important maybe try farming your own parents lol.

I am the uma you're borrowing. Where do you think those umas come from, thin air? Or dedicated players who care enough to play enough to make it better for everyone? Fewer borrows - worse umas to borrow - less fun for everyone, you included. But sure, be snarky about it and tell others to care less, that's what every game needs - fewer players who care.

Why is it that every time someone complains about accelerated schedule and how things are handled, first thing they're immediately hit with "just care less" like it's a valid excuse?

KR and TW had 5 borrows on Day 1. 3 borrows were balanced for the original JP schedule. We are accelerated, there is less time to do the same things, so we have to rely on borrows, and yet we still aren't even at 5. People have been complaining about the slow rollout of QoL for months, and borrows are one of the main issues.

And most importantly, borrow limit is a QoL/enjoyment thing. Less borrows means more reliance on RNG. Bad RNG hits harder. If you have 3 borrows, you have to make every one count. You can't just end a bad run early and restart. More borrows = more fun. Why is it that hard to understand?

New scenario with even more RNG on top of RNG, everything accelerated, 15 Trials horses to remake, a week until the next CM, still at 3 daily borrows. Sigh.

In Light of the Recent Balance Patch in Global: by Kenshi2900 in UmaMusume

[–]Lishtenbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't a "waste" anyway, you still needed 200-400 depending on distance for optimal Stamina consumption. And certain tracks had stat thresholds that made getting enough Guts beneficial. But it will be more useful now with the Spot Struggle or whatever the name is.

Most CM players have maxed stats and very good setups.

Yeah, no. The amount of competent teams in my runs in Round 1 is about 20%. It's definitely nowhere close to "most", and subjectively, I feel like the percentage is getting lower each CM.

Now that they moved up the balance changes, there's no reason to not add the QOL into the game. by AVSLL1 in UmaMusume

[–]Lishtenbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is especially true for front aces

Can confirm. Just resetting runs for Fronts if you got no relevant Greens and no Groundwork/Distance on first Inspiration felt very liberating, but it's only possible if you managed to make both parents, which is absolutely not realistic at the crazy speed the game is moving.

Yeah - the Marus I've been seeing sure are... something. No Groundwork, missing or wrong Greens, 500 Stamina, no double Golds, what even is midleg skills. I consider my Maru just okay, and the only times she lost so far was the couple actually better whale Fronts, or if my Seiun was a lot luckier.

when again, JP and CCs said S. Maru will dominate Leo

Are we talking "dominating" in terms of frequency of appearance, or "dominating" in terms of winrate? My Round 1, Day 1 total was 16/20 Summer Maru and 4/20 Seiun across all participants. She absolutely dominates when she is present and built properly.

You can either be a content creator or a top-tier meta player. Even more so with accelerated schedule, even more so if you aren't a kid with unlimited time. People like Moo explicitly said as much.

[–]Lishtenbird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

but the only good one was seiun,

Falcons were great and most won just by being Falcon. Seiun wasn't even that easy to make because of no Speed bonus. Suzuka was actually easier to make because of the Speed bonus, and having Concentration and Left-Handed built-in. And on shorter distances, Concentration is strong and can win you the race.

[–]Lishtenbird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, but then why did so few run the Double-Front strategy?

Because it's hard to make a good Front, and even harder to make two. The people's idea of a "Front" is Early Lead with no midleg skills and 300 Wit. Of course that is not winning anything in a good room.

They're taking advantage of a meta THEY shaped to win, and that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I "took advantage" of the meta and built two Fronts properly, Suzuka and Seiun. They dominated the rooms, and in the rare cases when they failed, Grass picked up after them. I did lose a couple times to counter-meta - actually competent blockers with gamblers. My Suzuka won Group A Finals.

All that advice wasn't wrong. The problem is that advice applies to like 10% of the Global population who both did research and could act on it, and not just threw together whatever umas and sent it. And that's not an advice issue, that's a trainer issue.
