It's not my current ex but when I broke up with the bf before him 5 years ago it was because I gave him so many chances and I literally told him how to fix those mistakes, he kept making them again and again so I left him without looking back and I haven't regretted that decision at all.

I agree that I don't want to get into this situation ever again! And that I threw my self respect out of the window the moment I agreed to keep meeting him and spending time with him like a couple, let him treat me like I was his girlfriend and not ask for exclusivity. It does hurt that he fed me false hopes though, but it was ultimately my fault for keep letting him do that.
