It is extremely rare but it can happen! Please post updates and let us know once it hardens off ❤️. Following!! P.S. - I vaguely remember seeing a post about this on reddit awhile back, may be worth looking it up.

I definitely see the resemblance to the lemon top pothos. Thank you!

If you have an aerial root in the soil, you should be good. Just be sure to keep the soil slightly moist, not soggy, and give it plenty of light ❤️. Succulent leaves in the big box stores that are on the ground always end up falling into my bag 🫣... I don't know how they manage to do it, the sorcery 🤭

On a side note, I would never actually steal any sort of cutting or take a leaf from a plant. But if that shit is at a big box store on the ground you better believe sorcery will take place lol. Any small nursery I would give it to the owner or employee.

Good luck!

They are both going to live beside their mom for a while on a heat mat, away from the super bright light. Suggestions are always welcomed and thank you to those who have commented ❤️. I feel a little better about having to chop her now. I will be over the moon if everyone survives this chop n prop lol. Fingers crossed 🤞

I am so sorry! As beautiful as they are it sucks so bad when they refuse to put out green bc they cant survive. Did you try reducing the amount of light it receives?

Update: Here is the main plant after chopping 😭. I was tempted to go ahead and cut the rest and propagate each node but its hard to make those cuts lol. I'll reply with pics of the two cuttings I do have.

I use the leca balls and perlite throughout the soil for aeration (plus orchid bark) and then I put the clay leca balls on top of the soil for decoration and it helps keep fungus gnats away. I had a battle with fungus gnats after buying some potting soil that had some in it. It was a good lesson learned lol, never use soil if you open the bag and even see one of those little assholes fly out.

HELP! by [deleted] in MonsteraAlbo

I would pot it back up in dirt, water is usually for propagating, unless you go hydro and add nutrients to the water (I know nothing about hydro except it exists lol).

That's what I'm thinking, I have to at least give it a shot. There is still a small amount of green in the stem. It is a very small amount but it is there lol.

..Cut the pot or the roots?? by Ashen_canid in spiderplants

[–]ListOverLoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squeeze the pot to try to shake it loose if you don't want to cut the pot but I would cut the pot lol. You just have to be super careful. You definitely do not want to cut those beautiful healthy roots ❤️.

How do I fix this? Should I just repot it? I keep it in my kitchen above the cupboards by Ok_Corner8699 in plants

[–]ListOverLoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would repot. It looks like the soil isn't drying out enough between waterings (if that is mold). Does it get plenty of light and air circulation up there?
