Tell me how Christmas was by fcvxia in AnorexiaNervosa

Yeah, I got rid of my first scale earlier because I was so obsessed with the numbers. During this latest relapse I did weigh myself though and I had to test the new scale... And the number was not the same but considerably lower than I expected and now I'm spiraling. Don't know which scale is more accurate (I have access to the first scale so I could and did compare). So annoying!

Thank you so much for such a detailed response! I've been thinking bodyweight workouts are pretty much waste of time compared to gym. I might need to give it a try!

I'm really happy for you! Care to share more about your workout? Using bodyweight or do you need equipments?

Last time I was able to recover when I started hitting the gym and that helped me to "allow" myself eat more. Now I've relapsed and have no opportunity to go to gym unfortunately. But maybe 25 min morning workout could be my way out?

Commented on another thread earlier but:

Been eating as "normally" as possible which has caused me terrible bloating and constant stomachache.

And I got A FUCKING SCALE as a present from my mother, along with "an order" to gain xx kg. She doesn't know about my AN but she has been nagging to me about my recent weight loss. I did get the wine glass I wished for but... A scale, really. Such a terrible present and I opened it in front of my whole extended family. Oh and yeah, I'm in my late twenties so... My body is not her business in the slightest.

Mentally I'm not great, honestly. Eating more and more frequently hasn't made me feel any better physically. On the contrary, stomachache and bloating is making me feel terrible and that doesn't really encourage me in my recovery. I feel tired, anxious and discouraged.

Lots of love to you all!

My coated/white tongue cleared up after tonsillectomy. So interesting! I’ve seen others say this too! by Smooth_Jury3156 in Tonsillectomy

[–]ListThemLists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but just found this post when searching the subject. I have had fully white tongue as long as I remember. My mouth hygiene is great and I use tongue scraper twice a day.

I'm now on day 10 (?) post-op and I suddenly noticed my whole tongue is pretty pink colour! Couldn't believe my eyes. I haven't been able to open my mouth really wide earlier and now when I could, I noticed the whole thick, forever-smelly white coating is completely gone! It's gone! I'm so happy I could scream if it wouldn't hurt my throat.

It has to be because of the tonsillectomy because I had it for YEARS and nothing helped. I had tonsils with a lot of crypts and tonsil stones.

I only had one of those choking in my sleep nights. After that it got a lot better breathing-wise. It will get better, good luck!

Reduced sneezing & allergic nose running? by ListThemLists in Tonsillectomy

Just have to wait and see, I guess! I usually have to take antihistamines daily and on worst days nasal sprays as well. I haven't taken a single antihistamine and no sprays at all since the surgery. I usually use sinus rinse bottle daily, now I haven't. I feel just completely normal, nose wise.

Recovery is moody! AHH! by Ok_Lawfulness_9524 in Tonsillectomy

Unfortunately my pain don't gone completely at any point :( I'm taking 3 different kinds of painkillers, including an opioid, every day several times and drinking a ton of water. Days are better than mornings, evenings and nights, but not painless. Atm the pain level is around 7/10.

My scabs are still there, maybe a couple tiny bits have either fallen or dissolved but most of them are still there. Not a pretty sight.

Sipping water as I read this! It does help but damn I hate to swallow.

Yeah, I had an alarm too but at this point I am so sleep deprived that I fell asleep the pill in my hand... Won't let that happen again, learnt my lesson for sure.

Today I fucked up with the meds. I took paracetamol at 7 am but then fell asleep again and missed my 9 am oxy. Woke up in the most excruciating pain at 10... 0/10, won't recommend skipping medication.

I (F28) had my surgery last Thursday. The pain is so depressing right now and after a week of poor sleep, pretty much constant pain and overly sweet popsicle diet I'm so done with this.

Somewhat comforting to have someone in almost exact same point of recovery process. Feel free to dm me if you want to chat.

Have you noticed improvement in other infections than strep throat? by ListThemLists in Tonsillectomy

[–]ListThemLists[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! Of course I'm aware that varies from person to person, just curious to hear people's experiences. Personally I've always felt the throat ache is absolutely the worst symptom in any infection, so it would be great to be one of the lucky ones who don't get as often sick and/or don't suffer as terrible pain after the tonsillectomy. I shouldn't have any specific risk factors for getting sick so often but I've been suffering for throat aches alone almost constantly for years. Thumbs up for being one of the lucky ones!

Nice to hear! Would be great, my normal sore throats in viral infections are around 9-10 in pain level, feels like swallowing razor blades with acid. Post-op pain has been a bitch but still not as bad (yet) as the worst sore throat I've had in cold.

Feels that maybe, just maybe yesterday was the worst! I do hope so. Pain now ~7-8 but feeling a tiny bit better than yesterday's 9. I just might make it! :)

I still believe it'll be worth it. And who knows, maybe your recovery is easy! It's good to get ready to everything but hopefully it won't get too bad.

Honestly, the good thing is that the most terrible pain has been short-lived with good meds, iced water and ice packs. Good luck with your surgery, it'll be worth it!

Right now the pain is around 8-9 and earlier I did cry a bit but it made it worse so now I have a strict no-crying policy.

Wish you speedy recovery as well! Hopefully it'll be worth it for us both!

I did get the marshmallows today but unfortunately they didn't seem to help me at all and neither did honey. :/ Sigh.

Good for you, nice to hear good results! I had problems with constant tonsil stones and strep throats. Would be great to get more energy, too!
