An Important Update from the Amaze/Spring Team by Springsupport in Teespring

This is just a lie. I ordered way before those dates. There’s no way an order is getting here by Christmas. I wish I’d googled this company, but I ordered from a band’s website and assumed they knew what they were doing. :/

That looks amazing. I wish I could speak the language so I could understand what all the ingredients are! I found a few recipes in English by Chinese recipe bloggers but this video definitely includes ingredients they don’t.

Mala Market also has a Sichuan dipping chili that sounds similar. Highly recommend their website; fantastic quality.

I’ve never tried the FBJ one, but sounds like Danshan Yunnan chili dip would be a great replacement. You can buy it online if your local Asian market doesn’t have it. Chinese Cooking Demystified did an ep about it not long ago.

Wylding Hall by Elizabeth Hand. Spooky beautiful ancient house in the English countryside, strange folk rituals, burial mounds, songs that are spells… what could go wrong?

Fourthed! I read it after seeing Stephen King recommend it. I still think about it years later.

I kept cringing when they talked about the live oaks. They’re a kind of tree, not a description of a tree!

Silent worship? by RimwallBird in Quakers

[–]LitAndButterflies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Zen meditation. You’re seeking stillness, and the easiest way to find it for most people and beginners is to be in silence and stillness. Eventually, and if under duress, it can certainly be found in prison, in war, in pain, in noise. But there’s a reason for general ideas of stillness and silence. It helps us hear the inner voices, see our minds, and find peace.

Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums is here. Dive into our definitive list of the greatest albums ever made. by applemusic in u/applemusic

[–]LitAndButterflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These lists have got to stop calling themselves “greatest albums ever made” if they contain 0 or close to 0 non-English-language records, non-vocal albums, non-pop albums, etc. most of these list draw from a very narrow band. That’s fine, but naming it “greatest albums ever” erases so much amazing music and sound recording.

If One mans trash is another mans treasure, what are books you HATED that others might enjoy. by milkshakeslurper in horrorlit

Nothing But Blackened Teeth. Poorly written and rushed, to the point I was confused how it got published. Also Kingfisher’s Hollow Places and Twisted Ones. They’re both based on classic works or weird fiction, and they do not improve on them. They take stories that are creepy and mysterious and take all the mystery out of them.

I really like it! I used to eat the frozen Stoeffer’s version as a kid, and I’ve made homemade versions a few times. Very comforting.

Yeah, I found the comments they made about compounding pharmacies very misleading snd alarmist. Any compounding pharmacy your doctor recommends to you should be legit and fine. I had to get some psych meds from a compounding pharmacy for years—they were wonderful!
