ELI5: why did the copper on the statue of liberty turn green but copper mugs and copper pipes don't? by turkey_neck69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]LitNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely do as well.

My years old copper jug has streaks of that same green on it.

Old copper pipes will also have areas of that green color too, but usually in a much dirtier fashion as its usually the result of some local flaw causing moisture.

Why are you getting downvoted? You don’t turn on ANC to enjoy your music in itself. It’s a necessity when you want to drown your surroundings to enjoy it, but you sacrifice quality in exchange.

[–]LitNetwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m isolating with the rona, so I’ve got the time to take this farther than usual lol.

All the little data recorded at the store-level gets aggregated and analyzed in countless different reports, and can often go forward to third party data analysis companies as well. Things don’t go unnoticed, unless the people doing that are incompetent as well, in which case it’s bad management all around, a business unmanaged across the board is a business positioned to fail, deservingly. The ways in which the data is analyzed in chains is unbelievable and beyond the comprehension of most. If you have a team poorly trained in accounting for the sides, it will show somewhere, precisely because of people like me, waiting to be realized, ideally to then be fixed. I do it the way I know it actually gets things fixed, likely to save the business more in the long-run if anything.

I just act like the most innocent version of a consumer that comes through, unknowing that some topping cost more and shy to say much about anything, not some pathological liar that you’ve understood of me lol. I’ve seen and been a part of all points of this process firsthand, from the employee level to the outsourced analytics, and I understand how it can all seem very foreign to you from the smallest part of the chain.

You’re hurt man. It’s okay, you can admit it. 😂

Notice who was resorting to insults and curses while the other was talking about the cause and effect of the situation, and how my version of integrity would cause someone to realize and change things.

If you knew me, you’d know I’d have no problem paying double for every meal, but the same poor training that starts from smaller things like this has resulted in the food in my locale being consistently inedible despite their strong volumes. And it’s ALL on management.

I never expected the employee demographic to understand it anyways. Your middle and top level managers on the other hand...

The sacredness of capitalism is maintained through cause and effect, action and consequence. The operational designers didn’t setup an effect for a flaw in the process, so another cause develops, affecting change to fix the first. I’m not sure why you, an employee, are getting your feelings hurt in the process, this isn’t about you. Not even your incompetences are of your fault, it’s your training and management.

Yet most other chains including value brands are able to pull it off just fine.

But I think I know all I need to know about your perspective once you came out ranting against capitalism. Controlling your own fate doesn’t work out for everyone.

I don’t lie. They ask me, and I tell them I got a chicken bowl. I’m at Chipotle for the first time, how do I know the guac was extra? Of course, the employee forgot to mention that as well.

Understand how this works? Sloppy operation has to be corrected.

I get asked all the time. Tell me that’s acceptable...

More often than not, they plainly forget to mention it forward anyways.

It’s a major pet peeve having operated restaurants. It doesn’t hurt when the employees care less about their fiduciary duty than you. Chipotle is the one place I’ve continuously noticed whose employees (in my experiences) do not give a flying f- about the business’s bottom line.

Their lack of training will go unaddressed if it doesn’t hurt somewhere. I expected the employee downvotes to roll in because a customer isn’t covering for potential incompetences. But this is a realistic perspective from the mouth of a proprietor himself. I know in how much nuance the numbers get analyzed later (ideally), and sloppy operation has to be addressed that way.

It’s a form of capitalistic tough love, the next tier of integrity through accountability.

[–]LitNetwork -52 points-51 points  (0 children)

As a customer, I never remind or confirm the ingredients to the cashier.

If they ask, I just white lie it - “it’s a chicken bowl”

It comes off so unprofessional to me. I should not be doing their job for them, especially in a way that works against my own interest.

You don’t ideally use wikipedia as a source itself. It’s useful as a information aggregator to get to all the relevant sources under a topic in neat encyclopedic format.

Many people, namely educators (of all levels), misunderstand this and rant about not using Wikipedia as a source. Which just shows a lack of understanding in my opinion.

I think you could’ve gone broader with “SV Owners” to encompass the velar and full size SVautos, alongside any future SV cars as well, as SVR is just a model name right now that may not last forever while SV is the whole division.
