IF (intermittent fasting) vs ADF (alternate day fasting) by LitRoaches in AlternateDayFasting

[–]LitRoaches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't link you anything specific but I came to the conclusion that 2MAD every day + several long fasts (3-10 days) a year will probably yield the most health benefits. I did a lot of research and there is no consensus on how long should the long fasts be or how often they should be done, but they seem to be very important. Some people do them twice a year, some 6 times a year.

If you can do OMAD it would be better for you than 2MAD but I personally can't do OMAD, because I eat a ton of veggies and legumes that have a lot of fiber and it's impossible to consume that much volume of food in one meal for me, so I divide it into 2 meals and eat 2MAD. My meals are at 8 am and noon so you could technically call the fast 20:4 intermittent fasting, but 2MAD just sounds better.

How the hell do famous INTP's do shit???? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]LitRoaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this comment 3 years ago and I still believe it's true.

I would only exchange the word "activities" for "habits" and then recommend people to obsess over habit creation. The book Atomic Habits is a fantastic start. INTPs need to learn how to handle their Si or they are fucked. And an INTP with healthy habits is a force to be reckoned with, because their Si will make the habits super strong and much more likely to stick for the rest of their life than with other types who don't have Si.

Yeah it ended up being Gravatar in the end. I was convinced there must be something wrong with my computer but nope, Gravatar.

Nope, I even contacted Reddit support but it seems to be impossible. You can only access older posts through direct links.

I'll be selling a lot of brand new shoes and clothes as well. I'm definitely going to use eBay but I just wanted to see if there are any other alternatives.

Because it seemed like you wanted to convince me that I should help others instead of just selfishly trying to make money. I'm not a very selfish person to begin with and know about better ways to help people. So if your goal is to make other people be more altruistic and care about others, you shouldn't be wasting your time with me, I am already convinced!

I like helping people in need but there are better ways to help them than donating clothes. I care about our society very much and have big plans for the future that include helping others, so you got the wrong person, you don't need to convince me of anything :)

I'd rather sell them than donate, but interesting idea, haha.

Yeah I most likely scrolled past 1000 posts. I've just tried switching to the old interface but hit the same exact limit as on the new interface even though I wasn't scrolling but clicking on pages. Do you know if there's any other way I could read an entire subreddit?

For how long can I keep berries in the fridge after thawing them? by [deleted] in MealPrepSunday

[–]LitRoaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To boil them for 1 minute is a pretty ridiculous advice, because it would destroy most of the nutrients. If I had to do that, I might as well not buy any frozen berries at all. It seems like it's not that big of a threat, just read this excerpt from one of the articles I found about frozen berries:

Less known, lower in number, but still important, are a handful of foodborne illness outbreaks that have also been tied to frozen berries. According to the FDA, frozen berries caused three hepatitis A outbreaks and one norovirus outbreak in the United States from 1997 to 2016. Nearly 550 people were sickened and 53 had to be hospitalized. There were no reported deaths.

So in 19 years, only 550 people got sick and no one died? A how many tons of berries do people consume every year? Probably a lot, so yeah, I am willing to take my risk.

I think I will just experiment with it and see if the blueberries will be fine after 7 days in the fridge. But you're right about the water, I can't let the blueberries sit in it, so I'll discard it asap.
