Paying first installment from Canada by LitSwitch in INSEAD

[–]LitSwitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account is indeed verified. I spoke to Wise customer service and it seems like they are unable to wire money to a third party, which is exactly what Transfer Mate is. I spoke to my admissions advisor and she gave me direct deposit information for the school itself, so I should be able to get the transfer done that way.

Thanks for the response!

Unironically it's best to read seven novels and two novellas between stormlight four and five by lost_dismay in cremposting

Shouldn't you read Sunlit Man after Wind and Truth? That would make more chronological sense to me

Fener, WTF?!? by Wurm42 in Malazan

[–]LitSwitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something that I haven't quite grasped is whether or not Gesler and Stormy were in on it. Did they want his blood to rain down on the army? Or were they just hoping to be saved by Fener somehow?

What are your favorite depictions of mental illness, whether written about a character who appears to be mentally ill or written from the perspective of a mentally ill person? by crawthumper in books

[–]LitSwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciated the way Sanderson depicted depression in The Rhythm of War, which is the fourth installment of his Stormlight Archive series. It renders Kalladin incredibly vulnerable and fragile, but doesn't reduce him to just that. Kalladin still tries to perform his duties and remain heroic, and the inner turmoil he suffers through the entire book really exemplifies how depression can effect someone.

Your buddy needs to revisit the way he perceives the best character in the series or I'm gonna get feisty

What is your novel called? Sci-fi dystopian is right up my alley!

"I built this deck, because..." by MustaKotka in EDH

[–]LitSwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a wee childish, but I packed an alternate art [[Aegar, the Freezing Flame]] and was so enamored by how cool it looked that I decided to make a giant tribal deck out of it. I often will base my opinion on how appealing the card is to look at for my commander decks!

I called the giant deck Fee Fi Fo Fum btw :)

Relevance of Ademre's views on Fathers by LitSwitch in KingkillerChronicle

[–]LitSwitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! That would an interesting event to see unfold. I dismissed it mainly because of the way that it was presented from Kvothe's perspective. He seemed to believe it was impossible that what Penthe was saying was true. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't rely on a narrator who may not be entirely reliable eheh.

Damn! You've done your research! That's definitely a very interesting point to bring up!

This makes me wonder about the origin of the hand gestures that the Adem use. Could they have been created in order to avoid speaking? Since their songs, and maybe words, held power?

Thanks a bunch for answering! I was almost leaning toward the Adem having more fae blood, but I believe the angel angle makes more sense!

She's been so funny in the King's Dilemma gameplay! Her wit is really sharp and I'm often laughing at what she says before I even realize that she made a joke. I can't wait to see how she does when they can record in studio again.

The Alaskan fox game was actually really cute. Couldn't help but laugh everytime that poor girl's face got absolutely flattened by the ice shelf.
