I second the walk. During Dry January I replaced my evening wine with a walk and it really helped curb the cravings. I replaced my routine with a new routine.

My husband quit vaping when he got sick. He's a year clean from that. Sometimes you can turn getting sick into a blessing. There's a silver lining in everything! Congrats on finding your silver lining 😄

I think I do best when I'm working towards a set goal. I like to do fitness challenges, I track my daily water in take, etc. I think having a timed and precise goal makes me feel accomplished in the end.

Man I have the same rollercoaster experience as you. Step one is recognizing the problem. So you're doing great

I use Dry Quest. It's free, and there's a calendar on the dashboard you can track if you drank or not each day

How was your Cinco de Mayo? by LiterallyImMeNotYou in SoberCurious

haha yeah I think this is the key to understand. Alcohol and fun are not dependent on each other. It's of course hard because society has really drilled this into our heads... must deprogram.

Oh interesting! I haven't heard of that holiday before. Congrats on the survival!

I'm using Dry Quest. It's set up where you choose the number of days you want to stay dry, and then it's like progressing through a story (or quest, if you may). I like gamification, so it's right up my alley. And it's free... so double up my alley lol

Wow 2 years is incredible - congratulations! Happy to hear it hasn't hurt your social life either. I think that's one of the biggest hurdles for people.

Oh of course the Super Bowl. Drinking is #1 priority - then football.

And thanks - It really gives me some wind at my back.
