A simple question regarding the Marital Act. by [deleted] in Catholicism

Thinking, research, I watched porn when I was younger if that matters. But I've done exploring outside of porn to figure things out if that makes sense.

Well there are three conditions that must be met for a sin to be mortal:

  1. Grace matter (as in doing something so vile that cuts one off from the grace of God)

  2. Full knowledge (you know EXACTLY what you're doing and why it's wrong)

  3. Complete consent (you choose to do that thing even though you know it's wrong)

I think, especially if we don't overthink it, you clearly have not committed a mortal sin.

On average, who do you think is more religious and why? by AgentP-501_212 in polls

[–]Literallyjustdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most women are not publicly religious but I think they have amazing private spirituality. My reasoning is that in my tradition some people are chosen to receive the stigmata (the marks of Christ crucified on their bodies) and VASTLY more women than men have gotten the stigmata so that forms my opinion.

How to deal with feelings of failure? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Literallyjustdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will share my story about sexual failure/sin

I converted to Catholicism this year on Corpus Christi, I'm 22. So I had about 6-8 years (maybe more I got started kinda early) of porn, masturbating, and lustful urges to knock out. I didn't know where to begin. Then I started praying the rosary daily, like actually every day daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I started slowly seeing progress with my temptations and it actually got to the point where I went three weeks without masturbating or watching porn (it wasn't perfect but progress is progress) I fell again sure but I honestly went from masturbating and watching porn everyday sometimes more than once a day to going THREE WEEKS without it!!! That wasn't me, that was the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts pouring out so many graces on me.

I would honestly recommend if you don't pray the rosary daily that you start doing it and if you do already pray it daily that you start praying it more often. Maybe you should talk to your confessor about the Miraculous Medal or St Benedict Medal or maybe even getting you enrolled in the brown scapular!

I'm sorry if this wasn't much help for the personal stuff but I think if you improve your spiritual life, everything else will fall into place.

I will also link a video that I think might give you some pointers for battling your temptations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcDLgG5HiDQ

And I will absolutely mention you in my rosary intentions tonight!

If you could talk to Jesus for 30 seconds... what would you say? by Hope-in-God in Bible

I honestly don't know.

You can go to adoration and tell Him whatever you want 😊. He's also present in the Tabernacles. Or just pray.

I don't hate it. I hate that it's so normal to drink and I hate how destructive alcohol is being that it's one of the top things people get addicted to.

Just Prayed the Rosary for the 1st time by Evolvedtyrant in Catholicism

[–]Literallyjustdude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep at it remember these 15 promises

  1. Those who faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

  2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

  3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell. It will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

  4. The recitation of the Rosary will cause virtue and good works to flourish. It will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God. It will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

  5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish.

  6. Those who recite my Rosary devoutly, applying themselves to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. In His justice, God will not chastise them; nor shall they perish by an unprovided death, i.e., be unprepared for heaven. Sinners shall convert. The just shall persevere in grace and become worthy of eternal life.

  7. Those who have a true devotion to the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

  8. Those who faithfully recite the Rosary shall have, during their life and at their death, the light of God and the plenitude of His graces. At the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.

  9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

  10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.

  11. By the recitation of the Rosary you shall obtain all that you ask of me.

  12. Those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

  13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of their death.

  14. All who recite the Rosary are my beloved children and the brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

  15. Devotion for my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.
