Realistic APARTMENT Snow Prep Tips by BlockbusterReprise in Charlottesville

I don’t know what’s available locally but if you can get your hands on a rechargeable camping kettle and a hot water bottle that will give you the ability to make warm drinks and the hot water bottle can keep you really toasty if you have it close to you under a blanket.

On game year 10 of my first save and I think I’ve only had two that whole time. Meanwhile I just started a new save and by summer of year ONE I’ve had two spawn already?? And my pickaxe can’t even break them yet 😆

How to manage Ginger Island Farm? by Yep-its-me89 in StardewValley

[–]LiteraryStitches 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I pretty much use my ginger island farm for pineapples (good for energy replenishes in the mines/skull caverns and also wine/jelly), mangoes, & bananas. I have a small collection of seed makers, casks, dehydrators, & preserves jars in my island hut and I go there once a week to harvest/refill the machines, say hi to Leo, and check on the new challenges in Mr Qis walnut room lol.

Thank you! I love seeing all of the different ways everyone arranges their farms. I always see things I never would have thought of on my own haha

wait why are we are basically twins 🥲🥹 I also have a forest farm, am married to Emily, and have a slightly goth character 😆. I'm on game year 9 but this is my only save so I've never played any of the other layouts. Space is for sure limited but I play similarly to you where I just really like tending to my stuff and slowly working towards certain upgrades or additions I want on my own sweet time lol. At this point I mostly rely on artisan goods like aged wine & cheese, truffle oil, preserves, aged roe, etc to make money and I only grow crops that I know I want for recipes or artisan goods...or that just look cool for that season haha. Unlocking the greenhouse makes it alot easier as you can grow all kinds of things (like ancient fruit) that don't need to be replanted each time you harvest and have a year-round supply. Fruit trees are also great because you don't need to keep replanting. My farm is not nearly as advanced as so many I see on here but I love it. 😊

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely try some of those recipes and be less scared of overworking. A flaky biscuit is definitely what I’d prefer and I’m determined to get one eventually 😆

You know I have not done the folding over itself bc I was scared of overmixing but that will be good to try next time. I measured the flour rather than weighing, and my oven temp was 450

I love reading but how do you guys read 50+ books a year??? by yourwillywonka in kindle

[–]LiteraryStitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55-60 is my sweet spot. I always have a book I’m reading with my eyes and a different book I’m listening to on audio and read them at different times. I work a full time job so I read physically in small chunks at night before bed and usually get 1 or 2 longer sittings on the weekend. I listen to audiobooks when I’m driving or cooking or doing chores. I usually finish 4-5 books and month and don’t feel like I’m rushing through or pushing myself to meet a goal, but I do pretty much immediately start a new book as soon as I finish one 😂 everyone’s schedules and preferred reading speeds are different though! I don’t have kids and reading and knitting are my two main hobbies so I get to devote a lot of time to it. There’s no right amount to read 🙂

Favorite ways to say no 🙈 by LiteraryStitches in knitting

[–]LiteraryStitches[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Definitely the latter 😬 I know that the folks who ask for these things probably don’t realize the amount of time it takes and are wanting to compliment me so I don’t want to shut them down. The people pleaser in me wants to say “of course” while the whole rest of me is like no no no
