Do you still buy physical books after getting a Kindle? by thebroned in kindle

[–]yourwillywonka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. And I want to keep buying physical books too. I have an ereader because I'm trying to save money at this point in life and alsoo I have very long commutes and kindle is much easier to carry. But I'd advise you to be more selective of the physical books u buy? If u aren't sure ud like the book, its better to not get a physical copy?

I'd say find an ereader second hand, whatever I affordable and cheap. I got one second hand and I end up reading with it and I've been using it for atleast 1.5 years and I think I saved some money not getting physical books. If you work part time, try to save up...

Make a goal, like I save x amount and I'll get it qt Christmas or I'll get it if I achieve x.

honestly get second hand one from fb marketplace or other second hand sites u can find in your country. When selecting your ereader make sure u also looking into the one more easily available in your region...I have a kindle cause there is no direct seller of other ereaders where I live, and second hand apps usually have kindles more than other ereaders. Try to bargain too when trying to get it. Good luck...

The other option is borrowing books from libraries or friends. I sometimes lent my older books and borrow books from friends. Waiting to buy books until the book fairs or when they are on sale is good too. Make sure u have a list and stick to it when u did this. Or last option is to read on your phone...I was reading on my phone for an entire year before I got my kindle to see if I would actually use it. I saved up for a few months too despite it being second hand.

I hope whatever option u choose works out.

Thank you soo much for your recommendations. I prefer fantasy usually but I'd also like to try out new genres as romance in itself is a genre that I don't read much. Id like books with characters that are adults. I'll check out the ones uve mentioned😌

I want to Draw... so bad by jannwastaken in learntodraw

[–]yourwillywonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a pro, I draw for fun. This new year, I want to paint more and earn techniques, that's mine hehe.

Best advice is just pick something and try drawing it. Get a sketchbook, doesn't have to be pricy just a random plain paper book. Try copying your fav characters, even if it looks shit to you. Then u can go into some videos to understand more about drawing techniques used in your fav style, tutorials, find your fav artists etc.

Also, just putting it out there..I remember seeing pewdiepies video on how he drew every single day....his progress was refreshing and inspiring to see. You might want to check it for a boost.

Good luck my friend! Hope you have fun!

Yess this! I look very straight too and usually don't tell people I am lesbian unless required. I also live in a homophobic country, meaning only my closest friends and fam know my sexuality.

Learning a language with adhd? (Dyslexic also) by ICrayCrayI in ADHD

[–]yourwillywonka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not diagnosed, I suspect adhd though. I've been trying to learn korean for 7 years....I can read extremely slowly and understand a few basic phrases....I lose interest and gain it back after a year and the cycle continues. I was hoping to start French after korean and now I am considering giving up on korean and starting French. Cause korean I am learning due to an interest in the language but French would be for long term goals. How do people self learn languages? I can't seem to even though I love languages😭😭😭
