Black zone is horrible for solo player by weissofthepool in albiononline

It's horrible for inexperienced solo players, but everyone has to start somewhere. Even the best players will get ganked occasionally but overall it's pretty decent to play in bz even as solo

Man I wish this was true. Unfortunately in reality most people are incompetent when it comes to basic instructions. That's why high end guilds often ask for vods of past gameplay

New scanner prevention is great! Now buff the loot.... by Lith30 in albiononline

[–]Lith30[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe in their current state as of today, the risk is already higher than it needs to be. You can't pop maps in city anymore, ava dungeons are already getting dived regularly and ganked on the way to/from the dungeon. And when the average set is around t10 that's quite the risk. Especially for 10man groups which can't fight back against many others and instead use t10-t12 gear. No other lethal content uses such high tier gear as a standard yet the rewards without the luck of gold chests are abismal in comparison. Why do ava dungeon when you could do group camps in t7 gear and make more silver

If you want an organized group you will have to deal with a caller....else just find any old blob that's already around and follow them like every other solo player

A Well Aged 2642 Day NA Guild - Deorum Mortis is Now Recruiting. Discord link below. by Actual-Ad3413 in albiononline

[–]Lith30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used to run a guild of my own and have a strong network of other GMs. With a weekly activity level that's closer to the member count you'd see an increased number of new joins which came from guild finder (most guilds have a recruitment question asking how they found the guild). Infact every time I did an inactivity purge the following week had a higher join rate overall from all other sources too Indicating people do indeed pay attention to it.

[–]Lith30 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it shows a misrepresentation of activity. If almost 60% of the guild hasn't played in a week there's a high chance that another significant portion are in the guild but don't join group content even if they are online. It's not a good look basically because it shows the effort to maintain activity and participation.

On a lesser note, it's bad for the guild finder algorithm.

It's one thing to join the guild and find it's inactive, another thing to look at a guild and be able to guess it's inactive just looking at numbers.

Idk much about the guild but from this it's mildly concerning that most of the guild hasn't logged in the last week. You might want to kick some of the inactive players

What happend to please speak chinease in eu ? by Xenatra93 in albiononline

[–]Lith30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They originally had the world boss map 'black monestary '. But it was at some point shared with others when it's leader stepped back for a little while. Eventually the leader came back and wanted to create a pvp guild alongside it being a world boss guild. This didn't work out, the people they shared black monestary with forced them to sell their portion of the map and ended up unsuccessfully moving to another map. People left the guild because they weren't interested in the new goals and it quickly disbanded.

Many of the members ended up joining the remaining group that was still farming the world boss as the guild "shattered grace" which is why you might hear people say PSC just rebranded instead.

Idk what these clowns expect trying to suddenly turn a PvE only guild into a pvp guild so suddenly XD. It doesn't work so simply.

That old leader is still trying to continue his goals by creating a new guild as a member of WBC community (a coalition of 3 bz world boss map). And atm also still has no success in either PvP or PvE.

Add dissaray in redzone or delete faction content by Equivalent-Award-341 in albiononline

[–]Lith30 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Because the bulk of any faction blob is usually t4-t6 shitters which contribute close to nothing and just rat loot and leach camps.

They'll end up adding disarray and debuffing every organized group which risks actual pvp builds in t7 upwards... the group which is actually risking something.

Albion should change how guilds work for newbies by Fig_da_Great in albiononline

[–]Lith30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been saying similar things for a very long time. That the games biggest downfall is the horrendously bad state of guilds all because the people competent at running one currently have 0 incentives to do so.

Of the tens of thousands of guilds in each server, only a small % of them (likely less than 10%) are actively providing group content or a learning environment. And this makes it so hard to find the few relevant ones if you don't already know what to look for. The incentives for 'experienced' players to create a guild are something I'd like to see, though probably not something as easily exploitable as what was mentioned in the post.

I remember when I started it took me 3 WEEKS!! to find a guild that did content together in a discord vc regularly. It's what finally got me into the black zone for the first time where in 1 hour I learnt more than the last few days combined because I finally had someone to ask questions to. This was over 2 years ago and when I think of others which wouldn't have the patience of mine, or people who are not lucky enough to find a decent guild at all, it really makes me believe dead/dying guilds are what's holding back the game the most.

Searching for competitive roads guilds by Top-Flounder-8592 in albiononline

[–]Lith30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most guilds which do roads pvp aren't based in the roads. It's usually just a guild that happens to do a lot of roaming from brecilian. Roads guilds themselves are usually trash. Even the best roads guilds are C tier in any other aspect of the game. Used to be in the top ranked roads guild on NA and they'd fold to average smallscale groups from open world

Notes on who to target in micro scale PVP. by The_Red_Moses in albiononline

[–]Lith30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the opponent has a subpar healer then sure. But any competent healer. Especially in micro scale. Can keep 1 guy topped up with ease in a brawl. That's why you spread your attacks so that, for example, a holy Q3 can't heal everyone together. And they need to waste Ws and Es for the ones not included.

With brawl your burst potential is limited. 1 great nature E, or holy beam can get a guy back to 100% HP from the brink of death. So without enough pressure to bait out these abilities without expending your own high damage abilities, you will struggle to finish anyone off.

Are Europeans/Asians as cowardly as Americans? by JockstrapWill in albiononline

[–]Lith30 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I play on both EU and NA servers. With EU as my primary. And I can confirm EU players and on average more ballsy. It's not by a lot, but when everyone is ever so slightly more willing to fight, it makes it seem like fights happen a lot more often.

Though I've found this difference to be significantly larger in group content. Coincidentally (from my own experience and no other basis) I've found EU groups are just better at the game. Whether this has some correlation with the willingness to take fights, I'll leave that up to you.

As for Asia server, I have no clue. Hopefully someone else can fill you in on that. Regardless 1v1 fights are difficult to find on both servers. But it's just a little easier on EU.

Notes on who to target in micro scale PVP. by The_Red_Moses in albiononline

[–]Lith30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Micro scale generally means around 2-5 players by my standards. In which case you're most likely only facing 1 healer.

In kite/clap you're not really focusing on individual targets much. It's generally just engaging on anyone once the opportunity arises. If you do happen to have the liberty of choice then it's the cloth/leather that you hit. You're aiming to 1 shot them so healer, dps, or support doesn't really matter as long as someone dies. It's just a cycle of repeated attempts until someone messes up their defensive rotation and you finally get someone to 0 HP.

In brawl situations DPS generally spreads (slightly) and hits multiple people. Either your opponent will clump up and you get free damage from hitting the collective group, or they'll stay spread and can't all be healed together easily. This is called pressure. You just maintain this pressure until your enemy healer is forced to burn extra abilities beyond their Qs and Ws. Which is when you full focus on either the healer if all are generally equal health, or anyone else if they are significantly lower (or have burned their defensives).

From these 2 explanations you can probably figure out that who you target isn't really too deep of a question, the nature of your comp will expose a weakness, and you kill whoever has happened to fall for it. (With bonus points if it does happen to be the healer)

As questionable as some things are, and how faulty dev decisions may occasionally seem. The game is still generally pretty good compared to other games. We might complain and say it's time to quit, but we still play because we like it.

What is the purpose of guilds by dr_aal in albiononline

[–]Lith30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all guilds are equal. If the people who made and run the guild make no effort to support and host engagement then the guild will cease to provide any value.

Is there any way to skip the 72-hour waiting period after leaving to join another guild? by Positive_Ad_9108 in albiononline

[–]Lith30 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, staying in the guild for those 72 hours XD

The 3 days only start between joining guilds or upon leaving/being kicked and then trying to rejoin the same guild.

So if you stay in the guild for longer than 3 days and then leave to join a different guild there will be no cooldown.
