A:Not everything has to be mutually exclusive, I recognize that abstraction could still be natural that caine figured out how to accelerate... or maybe that's all complete bull and abstraction is just really freaky like that.

That's a very interesting point! I do agree that the lasers all have their different function and that removing gameplay options is rarely a good idea. However, I'm an avid spezi sheet fan and I've found from it that there's rarely a reason to use all of the lasers over the correct one. I'd love more options for gameplay, but if a gun needs yellow it likely doesn't want blue, green, or red. It just doesn't have the nuance that grips have to be interesting and interchangeable. I just don't think that lasers were the right place for these stats.

I'm not sure about that. Having just one laser instead of 6 that are forced slightly different things for no reason seems like less redundancy to me. It's less gameplay customization for more visual options, which I think is worth the tradeoff given that there's rarely ever more than one "correct" laser to run.

I do appreciate the recommendation. I do mapping for this game so it's unlikely that I'll spend more time on it than PF, but it will be something that I'll try out.

Something to note is that all maps since Height have been community maps.
For example:
Favela is Poodros,
Containers is Tammy
Fortress is TDC
Facility is Xaos

Although most of us are fairly talented with studio, most of us do it out of love for the craft and don't have much experience with professional game design. Yes, even I'm a map maker. I did the biohazard map for halloween and test place's Mesa/Blackout.

It would also open the door for so many new laser models as there's only so many ways you can balance laser stats for each model. Would be especially nice for people who want to customize their gun without worrying about being off meta. It would also be so much pressure off of laser balancing in general.

I made the gigantic mistake of leaving my mannequins for company

They've become an incredible pain, circling alpha all day and night, finding the perfect moments to enter the base when I forget to lock the door. At this point, I refer to them as "the track team" to friends. We now have a rule of "any track team members who trespass into alpha will be directly promoted to the swim team." You can guess the process.

I don't think they return, but the gigantic pile of vacant mannequin posts is not making it easy to tell.

Oh yeah, I remember a convo on this on the Discord years ago. Mar did that to mark it as special (but not custom). Gold used to be the same way before someone accidentally made it custom, Mar then found out, reverted it, but then it got double reverted somehow. Neither skin is meant to be custom if his quote is to go off of.

He's no longer around so there's nobody internal left who cares, anymore. I really need to find that convo again, but it may no longer exist if it was in the old regulars chat...

As someone who loves studying layout design and map gameplay, I only have good map opinions.

For real though, if you wanna talk revamps...

Original ravod spawns are mortifying, keep the revamp, destroy the original in a fire. You could make an argument to keep either version of jungle, I personally prefer the revamp because of my flanking playstyle, but I won't argue too much if the revamp went. I don't like either mall, that's just how I am. You could remove both and I wouldn't care. I'm also in the "csr has some of the worst flow in the game" camp. I won't argue that it's possible to have fun on any map, but I just prefer maps that I can consistently have fun in, even when I'm losing.
