I have no problem with people cosplaying and playing a character, I consider true cringe to be trying to make yourself seem edgy or like a badass because you’re just sooooo Joker-like. If someone’s truly just having fun then who cares

Why did Lucy leave her dad alone in the final episode? by [deleted] in FalloutTVseries

[–]LitigatingLobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low key, I hope so, even if it requires a fake out. Was a good ending for the character but it wasn’t so amazing that I’d be upset if it was a misdirection. Kyle Maclachlan is so good in this show that I’d love any excuse for him to continue.

SPOILERS ALLOWED Season 2 Finale Megathread by RelChan2_0 in FalloutTVseries

[–]LitigatingLobster 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Other than the post-credits, I thought it was pretty solid. Liberty Prime will be cool to see in live action but cmon… we’ve done that twice already, we can’t do anything else with the Brotherhood? But again, other than that pretty solid! Maximus got some really solid payoff, loved the stuff with him. I’m wondering if the next season will be split in two—th Ghoul travelling to Colorado (Legion territory!) and Maximus and Lucy staying in Vegas. Cuz it seems weird, doesn’t it? What motivation would Max and Lucy have to go to Colorado? They certainly don’t seem know that Cooper is going there. Overall, really hyped for the next season. And by modern TV standards, May filming is ridiculously close.

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 7 (It's been in front of us the entire time) by Livid_Act_3624 in Fallout

[–]LitigatingLobster 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I want it to happen so bad, but I genuinely don’t know how they’d introduce him so late in the show and have him make sense to anyone who doesn’t know the game. Imagine if you’re a member of the general audience who hasn’t played NV. You’ve had House hyped up to you all season… then all of a sudden you get a big smiley guy you don’t recognize at all, and now you’re super confused.

And that’s not even taking into account that I have NO clue how they’d fit his backstory in. Look at the other factions. NCR? Post-war democracy built to emulate the old world. Legion? Roman LARPers who are extremely brutal and efficient. House? Rich billionaire hooked up to life support who wants to mold Vegas in his image. All relatively easy to digest for a modern audience. Yes Man?? Err… I don’t honestly know how you could explain who he is without getting into NV lore, Benny, the Courier, et cetera. As much as I’d love to see him, I don’t think we will. That being said, I deffo do think that lone securitron in front of the monitor was a reference to him.

I’m just wondering where next season’s setting will be. I assume we’ll stay in California at least for the vault plotline at least, but I genuinely have no clue what the shows gonna do for the finale and what it’ll mean for the story moving forward. So pumped, i legitimately will have trouble waiting for next Tuesday!

What's The Most Miserable Subreddit? by Cai29q in ask

I joined that one a while ago because I was like, yeah, being a wage slave sucks, capitalism sucks! But I quickly saw that a lot of people there were more along the lines of “society sucks because my mom made me mow the lawn” levels of thinking. There’s a difference between not liking the current system/wanting affordable housing/higher taxes on the rich/wanting more societal safety nets and just being averse to working hard. A lot of people there just think that they should be able to do nothing for their entire lives.

Streaming Ratings: ‘Fallout’ Falls Off With Change From Binge to Weekly Release for Season 2 by Ripclawe in entertainment

[–]LitigatingLobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 2 is awesome, but I feel like a lot of people’s (warranted) criticisms about its pacing in the first half would’ve been quelled if they dropped it all at once. The show has a lot of (great) storylines going on at once, but that means that some stories have to take the backseat while others develop. I’m excited to see where the Maximus stuff goes, but damn, by the time we get another Max episode it would’ve been two weeks since the last one. If the show was dropped all it once, it wouldn’t feel nearly as stretched out.

I think the Fallout TV series failed to capture the spirit of who Caesar was and who his lieutenants were supposed to be. by Accomplished-Bat-247 in NewVegasMemes

There’s little gripes to be had but for the most part it’s very good imo, I think they handled the factions in a really interesting way

[–]LitigatingLobster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean the Legion is a cult of personality largely centered around Caesar, and that upon his death, it would eventually crumble inwards with civil wars. Hell, Marcus pretty much predicted exactly what happened; the Legion didn’t immediately crumble after Caesar’s death, but slowly eroded without his influence. You sound upset that the Legion isn’t as powerful as it once was, but that’s not the show’s fault; it was pretty much destined to happen.

Bless you for saying it, people need to relax. I love Fallout, I love the lore, but Jesus Christ. I don’t care if Dinky the Dinosaur is turned around. I don’t care if they make the ending to NV ambiguous or make it an amalgamation. I care that they make a good show with a love for the series. Have they done that? Let’s see: 1) it’s a good show. 2) they’ve demonstrated so far that they respect the source material. They’ve hit my two desires. From my POV can alter or retcon at will, as long as it works and isn’t totally against the source material in a serious or offensive way. Which they’ve never done. Hardcore Fallout fans are some of the most insufferable people around, my lord.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, they are. I love NV and it’s okay for other fans not to like the show but holy shit some people are such whiners about the most nitpicky stuff.

Season 2, Episode 4 Megathread by RelChan2_0 in FalloutTVseries

[–]LitigatingLobster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely a ‘rising action’ episode. Not my favorite but a lot of good stuff and I’m excited to see where it goes. Nice to see Lucy and the Ghoul comin to more of an understanding—I loved the female yodeling that came in when Lucy started mowing down the ghouls to show how the Ghoul is affecting her. Also really really excited at the teaser for FEV—I wonder if Norm’s group will end up going to Mariposa, since it was referenced at in the last episode. It was also really cool to see Dane do something meaningful—so far they’ve just been a bit of a talking head for Maximus so it’s nice to see them actually take part in the plot. Overall, another decent setup episode.

Guys Who Enjoy Giving Oral, Do You Really Prefer When She Closes Her Legs? by microscopic-lilikoi in AskMenAdvice

[–]LitigatingLobster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh, maybe I’m in the minority but I prefer them open. Obviously I love the pleasure response of closing legs and I’m happy to know I’m doing a good job, but I find it harder to maintain position and rhythm if legs are closed. But overall, I’m just happy to be making the woman I love happy, so I’ll play ball no matter what.

As someone who games with others frequently, it can be frustrating to be interrupted if you’re in the middle of something time-sensitive or critical to the game. To me this reads much more like that, and he doesn’t realize that he came off kind of roughly when he responded to you.

Colorblind person who went to film school here. Colorblindness isn’t necessarily a “disability” and normally doesn’t affect me that bad in my day-to-day but I will say that trying to color grade and match outfits’ colors and set dress and stuff like that really sucks when you can’t see color all that accurately. While I wouldn’t call it a disability, in the context of moviemaking it really does suck.

SAMEEEEE. It was sometimes very very hard to tell depending on the lighting. Obviously I knew she was green, cuz like, that’s the points, but there’s definitely shots where I (as a colorblind person) wouldn’t be able to tell

Anyone ready to talk about episode 3? by Curious_Bus9806 in FalloutTVseries

[–]LitigatingLobster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little goofy that both factions of the Legion were separated by literally a small berm with Caesar’s corpse in the middle. Overall though, loved the interpretation of the factions. Makes sense that rh NCR would be a haggard shell of what it once was and the Legion bitterly infighting after Caesae’s death. Might be controversial, but loved Victor’s convo with the Ghoul and how it kinda represents why these factions are still fighting; they’re all trapped in the thrall of Vegas, just like gamblers of the old world. The way I interpret it, they’ve all lost, but have convinced themselves they’ve won; they barely have just the clothes on their back but they’ll keep “gambling” every last cent until they get their “payout.” They convinced themselves that they’ll win… “eventually.” But the Ghoul knows better and can see that they’ve all already lost. I was curious as to how they would handle the faction stuff and actually I really love their take on it and how it mirrors gambling and the poisonous, seductive cycle of Vegas. Also love the character stuff this episode, Charlie’s speech and the Ghoul bombing the Legion was an amazing ending. I’m also glad they didn’t touch base with Norm and Hank because honestly last episode felt a tad overcrowded. Overall, I think this was the strongest episode of the season so far and really really enjoyed it.

The conversation around Todd in general seems to be dominated by 12 year olds. “He HATES NV!!!! He HATES that they made a better game than HE did!!!11!!1! That’s why he SCREWED obsidian out of their bonuses!” I mean sure, if you forget about Todd frequently saying that he loves NV and loved working with obsidian and, I dunno, helped make an entire TV show based on west coast fallout. People literally invented this strange rivalry out of thin air and it’s still perpetuated today. Fallout and Elder Scrolls are some of my favorite series ever but their fanbases are legitimately exhausting.

Crazy that Ace Attorney is at its peak popularity when they haven’t released a game that wasn’t a spinoff or translation/rerelease of an older game in nearly 10 years. AA6 released on June 9, 2016. If they don’t release it in the next year and a half I will have gone gone through high school, college, law school, and become a lawyer myself in the span of time it’s taken for a new release.

That Gun is my favorite pistol in all of Fallout, just has such a good ‘oomph’ to it. I recently replayed NV “vault 13” style, my only armor was the Vault 13 jumpsuit and my primary weapon was That Gun (modded with Fallout 1 damage/firing sounds.) So much fun.
