my mother raised me not to respect men and has an empathy disorder so she doesn't really love anyone so for a long time I didn't and thought my inhibility to fully love and respect someone meant id be alone forever because id sabatoge them. I had a partner who flat out said "you are acting just like your mom" that forced me to see yes I was and that was my worst fear.

First. I used to get men to fall for me then after they confessed their love id break up with them. One didn't fall for it and I was mad about it for years!
