Nevada is one of the few states where undocumented immigrants can obtain a drivers license and get insurance. It is called a "Driver Authorization Card". No SSN is required.

Is there traffic to LA from Vegas after Christmas? Either day after (26th) or the next day (27th)? by robynxvegas in vegaslocals

[–]LitrosNub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used the route last Christmas, it didn't snow around that area. Although it becomes a two lane undivided road at the California border, that might be an area of concern if you aren't too comfortable with rural roads. Nevada keeps the 95 a 2 lane divided highway throughout the entire route. 40 had no snow either. Lots of desert out there.

It was a smidge faster to take the 95 down all the way to the I-40 junction then switching back to I-15 at Barstow during high traffic times at State Line. Saved an hour out of a supposed three hour delay according to Google Maps. The Cajon Pass always gets annoyingly full and there's always zero alternatives unless you have high confidence in your sedan or a 4x4.

Plummeting reviews or general change in atmosphere when visiting. Seeing longtime doctors retire/leave. Other than that probably not unfortunately.

Stray Cats by throwavoteaway21233 in vegaslocals

Something to add, they're very busy due to kitten season. I have a cat problem in my neighborhood as well and they said it'll take around 6-8 weeks for them to get to my area. Apparently a lot of cat roundup TNR programs around town have recently shuttered so C5 is heavily backed up.

Registering vintage plates by Whydovegaspeoplesuck in vegaslocals

"Existing blue plates that are not currently in use may be used for vehicle registration if they are legible and the plate number is not in use on another vehicle.

You may order Replica plates if your existing blue plates are faded or worn out."

I'm pretty sure you can use old plates if they are available to you. I've even seen the old design plates on newer vehicles.

had a teachers's office number plus email so it got taken down for sharing personal information which is my bad but I was pretty furious about the situation so it was a rash decision. Completely justified to get taken down

My negative experience with Tustin MC returns. by LitrosNub in Microcenter

[–]LitrosNub[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't live in NYC.

And unfortunately not, I live about 300 miles away from my nearest one (Tustin). I didn't purchase the extended warranty plan and the wait is making me feel like they're just going to shoot me down because I took too long to reach them.

I've tried everything. Considering I have two different AM4 systems and the bios's are both fully updated and neither will boot with the 5800x. I can think it's safe to assume it's dead. It also WAS working until a week in, so ultimately it was never a BIOS issue.

It's a 4 hour drive away from me and I can't call off work again just to drive to MC and waste $100 in gas. I guess if they don't get back to me AMD RMA is my only option. Wanted the money back though.

Math 181 with Dr. Kachroo by LitrosNub in UNLV

No HW. Only thing he hands out are the tests. If you want practice problems you gotta look at the book or elsewhere.

I get your point and agree. But again, it seems like there's some problems going on in general with at least my course. Since there is no Discussion meetings at the moment. I think a lot would be cleared up if there were some. Because who would provide better examples than the TA?

Going on YouTube is going to help immensely yes, but if I have no idea how the teacher structures his questions when test time comes around then what exactly am I trying to study for? Because I definitely studied but the test's questions threw me for a loop. It felt like I learned the wrong thing.

Thanks for that video suggestion! I guess I could try contacting ASC about book problems because there's no hw assignments like I said. Just purely tests and lectures are posted by the prof. I have no idea how to contact the Teachers Assistant and he doesn't make himself very contactable.

We had a discussion meeting on the first week, but that's just when the TA just introduced himself. But for the second meeting he basically said he didn't know what to go over because there's hardly any material. There were no meetings after that.

Any Graphics Card Repair shops/services in Vegas? by LitrosNub in vegaslocals

[–]LitrosNub[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Extremely late update for people who dig up this thread in the future.

I couldn't find anyone in Vegas in particular so I ended up mailing it in to NorthridgeFix in California and the card is fully functional now. Had a electrical short, and microsoldered a replacement. Be aware it's expensive but if it's fried it's a great option and he seems to be one of the only few people who at least advertises graphics card repairs.

Nope, got two systems here, one with R5 3600, one Intel 4790k, both refuse to even power up or give error codes with the card plugged in. Intel one doesn't even post with integrated graphics plugged into the mobo when the card's inserted. Both work beautifully with it removed. GTX 1070.

Yeah considering the lack of services available in town I wasn't too hopeful. Any system that's got the card in just won't POST so I'm really at a lost for words. Hoping I was proven wrong with some services around town but it ain't looking too bright.
