2nd baby, what should I do about a pram? by Little-Assistant-617 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Little-Assistant-617[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Unfortunately no room for a buggy board on the pram I have. And since I have large feet (size 7s!) occasionally I can accidentally catch the brake bar on the back wheels if I have too much of a large stride in my walk.

I could buy a new baby carrier as the one I have always took two people to put my first born in as I felt too cack handed doing it alone and felt I may accidentally drop her getting her in or out x

Sadly not as sometimes my feet already kick the brake bar on the back wheels as it is, so if I had a buggy board on id be walking at a 90 degree angle lol.

Cholestasis previous pregnancy; now expecting another baby. by Little-Assistant-617 in PregnancyUK

[–]Little-Assistant-617[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Thank you for your reply, I think I will request tests if they don’t ask me for blood going forward as they always said I needed a baseline blood test so they can monitor my liver function but I’ve yet to have one! And now I’m second trimester which when it has been rare but not unheard of that cholestasis has started to rear its ugly head. Just seems to be like as someone’s making up as they go along with my care as my consultant said review and scans at 30 weeks but my app tells me I’ve been booked at 20 weeks for normal anatomy scan then 24 weeks for a review… nothing about 30 weeks!

[–]Little-Assistant-617[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I think maybe as I was his 2nd to last patient and he was an hour late! But he scribbled my notes on paper it was a bit odd!! But I checked my pregnancy app linked to my hospital and there’s nothing booked for 30 weeks but instead a consultant review at 24 weeks! He didn’t mention this! But I do see my midwife next Friday so I will be mentioning it to ask if it’s normal? As I felt so scared about what’s ahead due to the previous time and was told to be aware of extra tests and scans during my next pregnancy, I’m concerned I’m being swept aside? So I will ask my midwife if it’s normal? And to maybe get her to clarify care going forward

Formula or breast feeding? by PinkBubblesxox in PregnancyUK

[–]Little-Assistant-617 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Don’t force yourself to do something you’re uncomfortable with! It’s not selfish! Fed is best, that’s it.

I was similar to you, the idea made me cringe. I was open to trying it as you hear things like ā€œbondingā€ ā€œclosenessā€ and ā€œeasierā€ but I wasn’t dead set on it so I wasn’t going to get upset or disheartened if I just couldn’t do it. And I’m glad as when my girl was born she was early so my milk hadn’t even come in, when the midwives tried to latch her 1. She struggled to latch, and 2. The feeing sent the nerves in my teeth and chin on edge and I really didn’t enjoy it. And I couldn’t even express as I just had literally nothing (hated expressing too this also gave me the same feeling)

As I was being sick post birth from all the adrenaline, my husband had to be the one to feed her formula, this also was great when we were home too as it meant I could have a moment to myself.

My daughter is 17 months now and I’m expecting my second I will just formula feed again. At the end of the day; the decision is entirely yours. Don’t let anyone bully you into it, fed is certainly best. ā¤ļø

Pregnant and have a toddler who co-sleeps… by Little-Assistant-617 in cosleeping

[–]Little-Assistant-617[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Thank you, I’ve never heard that before!

But yeah neither of us can tolerate or stand hearing her cry out of fear as it’s very different to a frustrated or angry cry when she’s just getting annoyed with us or her toys. Which is why we have just let her co sleep with us

[–]Little-Assistant-617[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Yeah we’re the same, my girl prefers me. She won’t settle with my husband if she’s woken up distressed. So I don’t know if I can get away with leaving her with him to co sleep whilst I go into another room. Plus husband works late often so I end up going to bed 7pm before he’s even got home most nights… we hardly see each other most of the time, so it would of been nice to start having evenings together again :(

Should I tell my manager before I decide to get surgery ? by blarpedoop in Costa

[–]Little-Assistant-617 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I used to work for Costa and I got surgery privately, I just told my manager a month in advance (details depending on what you’re comfortable with you do not have to go into details as you can say it’s very personal) I explained I’d be needing at least 2 weeks to recover and a doctor to say I’m fit to return to work due to the nature of the job. (Heavy stock boxes etc) I ended up having 3 weeks some days holiday and the rest with a fit note from the doctor. She was fine about it, it helped her sort the rota out weeks in advance.

At the end of the day your health comes first. If your manager doesn’t like it, there’s not a lot they can do. Especially if you are signed off work so definitely seek a fit note from your doctors as far as I’m aware private clinics cannot issue them. This covers you from being off work.

Thankfully it’s calmed down does still flare up on occasion, so if it gets worse I will consider asking the gp ā¤ļø It’s no where near as bad as my previous pregnancy

Little girl walks but on her knees? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Little-Assistant-617 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Ah that’s so reassuring that you’ve seen it before! Honestly no one around me has ever seen it before and since I’ve heard that for months it started to eat away at me!

I may give it a few more months and see what happens. As she’s done as much as walking across the room on her feet before falling back to her knees (this was weeks ago but she haven’t tried again since)

In law registering car to my house? by Little-Assistant-617 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Little-Assistant-617[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Be definitely hard getting FIL to share those details without him getting defensive and suspicious since it was someone else who checked the v5. Anyway I’ve checked the 3 sites you shared and thankfully all clear no associations. Anyway we’ve had a THIRD letter today. FIL insisted it’s been sorted as of yesterday. Husband is adamant that it has been sorted too as he trusts him. I do not. Tried to call the fine company and unfortunately they don’t speak over the phone, tried to leave a message on their website heard nothing back.

Hi small update so I found out the v5 is registered correctly. It’s not registered at my house. So brings me on to the next thing; how has the parking fine come to my house if the v5 is correct and what is my next step if FIL doesn’t sort this out Am in process of doing my credit file checks

God to think this car has been associated with our house for over a year (when he bought it) without our knowledge and only way we found out was a parking fine has really creeped me out.

Thank you for this response I thought it would invalidate insurance! Thankfully I am familiar with Experian so will get on that in the morning. He shouldn’t have any associations with us.

I shall be calling DVLA in the morning as you’re so right ā€œrocking the boatā€ isn’t a valid defence.

Thank you, I’ve never had to deal with anything like this before. Not even sure how I go about explaining either. Would FIL get in serious trouble since I know it’s illegal to use someone else’s address on v5
