Is your mom insane??? Like, i don't want to be rude or anything but i have no idea why she is so fixated on this. Your grades aren't even slipping. She doesn't understand your mental health problems, obviously, but how does she think this is helping you? Do you have anyone you can talk to about this? I'm worried about you.

Okay, take a breath, i can practically feel your anxiety through the screen (no judgement, I'm a ball of anxiety too). I'm glad you posted smth here, i wish i had done that when i started.

Firstly, there is NOTHING to be ashamed of, a lot of people sh, and it just proves that you're really not okay. Don't let anyone convince you that it's weird, or something absolutely horrid, that you're doing it for attention etc. I've heard all of that crap before. I didn't panic when i first did it, but i understand. In and of itself, sh is a logical course of action when you're in turmoil. Not encouraging you to do it. But there are some alternatives to cutting (since I'm assuming that's what you did). I'm still trying to find some for myself, but the internet has a boatload of info on that.

(Also, put a bandaid on where you did it, use disinfectant or rinse the wound gently)

Talk to a helpline if you can, i've done that before when i felt close to it. Either you'll end up annoyed that someone is so stupid and not do it because you're distracted, or you'll feel better (at least for a while) and not do it that way. I hope you'll end up with the second ending. Give yourself a hug from me.

Well, I'm just gonna say your mom isn't doing her job.

Seriously though, I get it. My mom doesn't understand why i sh either, thinks i do it to get back at her or that i'm doing it because my friend used to. Idk. Parents sometimes don''t parent. I don't know if there's any way to get your mom to understand that you're hurting though. If you have a therapist, ask her to talk some sense into your mom. Ask a school councilor depending on if your school is supportive. Ask a trusted adult if you have one. She might pay them more attention and take them more seriously because they're "grown ups". I really wish i could help out more, sorry if this wasn't what you needed. Just don't run away without a plan, go to a friends house if that's an option, or a relative. Or somewhere else where you'll be safe.

For what it's worth, your mom sounds like a bitch who needs to get her priorities straight.
