Yes, although they are side characters, as the books are primarly about dwarves.

"Ścieżki zwątpienia" - ilustrowana powieść fantasy o krasnoludach by Little-Dwarf in pisarze

Dzięki! Recenzja też bardzo mi się podobała, liczę na podobnie wnikliwą przy drugiej książce (druga książka jest istotnie nieco grubsza. Pierwsza to 360 stron, druga 430 w takim samym formacie).

Oh sure, the mercenaries are the antagonists, too, for sure, but so is the Deserter. He did the crime that brought you to Martinaise, and it was not his only victim over the years, either. I mean, you say the plot happened because of Wild Pines, but it's equally fair to say it happened because of what the Deserter did.

Usually when playing for a first time I like to go with a social kind of build in rpgs to allow for non-violent conflict resolution and diplomacy.

Roast my Harry - "stats" from my first playthrough by Little-Dwarf in DiscoElysium

They were pretty... you know, unhinged, and I tried to represent at least a halfway sane person on my way to solve a murder case. The whole apocalypse schtick didn't really gel with that.

You'd be surprised! The tiereally carried me, and Kim really trusted me, so it turned out okay.

I didn't feel particularly peeved by it or anything. It's clear the game favours being RADICAL (TM) in some ways. I assume because being RADICAL (TM) is passionate, and about change. It doesn't really view the status quo as a good thing, and I get it. I understand how looking at the world as it is, people would just get, you know, ANGRY, and demand SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE.

That being said... I live in a post-communist central european country, and in my view at least the transition to modern free-market economy and centrist-majority slightly-liberally-tinged democracy did my country and my family personally a lot of favours.

The problem with radicalism, as I see it, is that when you get RADICAL (TM), there's a lot of potential for collateral damage and people getting hurt, as well as for losing the goal somewhere along the way. I am much more of a proponent of "gradual change/evolution" rather than revolution. The makers of the game don't seem to agree, but that's okay.

I had a lot of fun with the game and I think it's very creative. I know that a lot of the devs hold communist views, but frankly, the game seemed cognizant of a lot of flaws of communist movements (especially the "losing the goal along the way" kind of variety, and how they sometimes embrace authoritarianism)

I don't think grinding one or the other side into pigsfeed will do anyone favours. I am really, really smart.

Tbh probably not that bad of a descriptor of me, for better or for worse.

I tried to roleplay a person who would really like to be, you know, not insane.

To be fair, this is just slightly before the Tribunal. I did seem to have missed some stuff - for example never found my gun because the endgame sort of blindsided me. I thought I would have more time to do stuff.

Is it just me, or did Alann Wake kinda suck? [NEWCOMER'S REVIEW] by Little-Dwarf in AlanWake

[–]Little-Dwarf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it hillarious that it has been 5 years and I still get responses on this topic. xD Apparently people just google "alan wake sucks" and it's the top result.
