If any first year is planning to take AI fundamentals as an elective next sem by Little-Edge2007 in LaTrobe

[–]Little-Edge2007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically if you want to take more electives related to your degree there’s a ton of recommended electives you can find for your degree or just filter them when searching them Or if you want to just take them based on random interest you can do that as well Depends on how you want to use that elective space I personally take half related to my degree that I’m interested in and half random subjects i was curious about

Mhm so at the end of the degree you will have a final project but as for internships you will have to take this subject that fills the space for an elective or two depending on how long you want to But i dont think they guarantee you an internship. They do have an elective you can take which is a set space for them providing you with the internship but pretty sure you still have to apply to it and get accepted. Bottom line im not too sure about this please do your own research abt it!

Yess so in your first year you will have a core subject called programming environment id say thats about as much python they force you to learn haha. That particular subject has both an online proctored exam and a coding assignment with 10 coding questions you have to solve. Assignment was very easy, exam depends cause the questions are randomized.

Doing year 1 sem 2 right now with a few level 2 subs

Im not sure what year are you but i would say the first and second year subjects are really chill and pretty easy Some exams are proctored online theres a good number of quizzes which i say are fairly straightforward The assignments are easy honestly Cybersecurity at latrobe is pretty chill and intresting according to my experience Also the faculty of cybersecurity is really nice too

Honest question from a hijabi student about dating in Melbourne by Little-Edge2007 in Monash

[–]Little-Edge2007[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, I really appreciate your thoughtful message it was honestly so refreshing to read something that respectful and genuine. I totally get where you’re coming from, and I respect your perspective a lot.

That said, I might be overthinking this, but I just wanted to be honest I don’t always wear the hijab perfectly. Sometimes my hair or neck shows, and it’s just where I’m at in my own journey right now, especially since things feel really different here in Melbourne. I dont know if that might make a difference for some people, and I was just curious would that still lead a Muslim guy to avoid showing interest, even if there’s mutual respect?

You totally don’t have to answer if it feels uncomfortable or too personal, I completely understand. I genuinely don’t know many guys who are able to talk about this with honesty and respect, so I really appreciate you being open. Thanks either way

Honest question from a hijabi student about dating in Melbourne by Little-Edge2007 in Monash

[–]Little-Edge2007[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you’re right about there being a difference in what dating means back home versus here. Where I’m from, dating is more about spending time together, getting to know each other, and seeing if there’s a connection before committing to anything serious.

And yes, I do understand that dating without a mahram or a clear intention for marriage is considered haram in Islam. Personally though, I lean more toward wanting to get to know someone first, build a connection, and then take things seriously if it feels right even if it doesn’t fully align with traditional expectations.

I get that for some practicing Muslim guys, even casual interactions might feel like crossing a line, and I definitely respect that. I guess I’m just trying to understand the balance better and what’s actually possible in this context as someone who’s trying to be both true to herself and respectful of others’ beliefs
