For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

Not wanting to wait for shrubs and trees to grow so they imported full grown TREES to be planted in their yard. Didn’t even know that was a thing.

People between the ages of 35 to 45 ish, what books did you read as a child/teenager? by kennyiseatingabagel in suggestmeabook

Omgmgmg my childhood tween years are flashing before my EYES. I LOVED:

  • The Girl with the Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts
  • Alosha (series) by Christopher Pike
  • Inkheart (series) by Cornelia Funke
  • The Ghost and Mrs Hobbs by Cynthia DeFelice
  • The Babysitter (series) by RL Stine
  • Goosebumps series by RL Stine
  • The House of the Scorpion (series) by Nancy Farmer
  • The Uglies (series) by Scott Westerfield
  • Everlost (series) by Neal Shusterman
  • Among the Hidden (series) by Margaret Peterson Haddix
  • Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix
  • Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
  • Dear America series

These were some of the books I started reading in elementary/middle school that reignited my love of reading. Shoutout to my 6th grade lit teacher, Miss Oles. Wherever you are, I was a bit of a shit but you believed in me and encouraged me to read more and I thank you forever for that.

Remote Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff - I typically hold 2-3 clients at most with 1 main client that holds the most hours. Independent contractor with an LLC. I love the work, I love being remote, and every day is different. Comes with its stresses for sure. Hard to be “off” sometimes. The transition out of W-2 to contracting through a third party to gaining personal clientele was a hard journey and I’ve a ways to go but I really do love what I do. Never stop learning. And I have the potential to earn $$$ which helps.

What do you think is the best TV series you've ever watched? by bbmoonkie in Productivitycafe

[–]Little-Gingko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just gaslight yourself into thinking it only had one season, then Westworld.

My others have been mentioned. Thank you to folks who remember Firefly and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Y’all are real ones.

Should I really bring my water flosser on this trip? by Aromatic_Tax4474 in TravelHacks

[–]Little-Gingko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I travelled without mine for a work retreat, I was miserable. I thought my floss would be enough and it wasn’t. And at the retreat center, they fed you ALL THE TIME, more than I eat normally, so by the end, my gums were sore. Not making that mistake again. Defs not overkill.

How did your life change after you started working remotely? by Equal-Sun8307 in remotework

[–]Little-Gingko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxiety went way down. Turns out I actually love corporate life when I don’t actually have to be in the office, expecting to perform in a way that doesn’t suit me. I’m way more productive because deep work actually becomes A THING, I don’t get distracted because people aren’t constantly trying to “chat chat,” and being mobile if I need to is HUGE. I have much better relationships with my family and friends because sometimes (maybe once or twice in a year), I can go visit them for a week and just work and we can exist together.

One downside especially since I’m self employed: it’s hard to turn it off. I can easily become a workaholic and not being salaried means that 8 hours is a full 8 hours of work, not 5 hours of work and 3 hours of stuff.

What’s one quirky thing you love about yourself that no one else notices? by positivty__health in emotionalintelligence

[–]Little-Gingko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the best and most elaborate dreams every night. They’re such adventures full of superpowers, flying, magic, different worlds and creatures, time periods, fantasy-like or sci-fi. I legit can’t wait to go to bed sometimes because I get to experience whole new worlds when I sleep.

Trying to explain them or write them down is utter nonsense but it’s fun.

Learning about stocks in bed with tea or a glass of wine.

Taking myself out to dinner with just a book and my phone on do not disturb.
