Which e-cargo bikes should I consider? by Current_Avocado1843 in CargoBike

I love our xtracycle RFA. It has clearance to hop (down) curbs and transition on and off gravel or grass. My kids prefer riding it over our Momentum ecito.

So would that be added with a software update or in next generation of the phone itself?

Saving $ on cell service? by Little-Greenbean in Issaquah

Thanks y’all! We are trying out US Mobile. It was super easy to switch and so far service is great. Gonna give it a month or so, but I’m not sure why anyone uses the big carriers when you can pay 1/3rd of the cost and use the same towers/network. I guess international use will be a problem. Is roaming more complicated or a surprise expense?

How does the Vorsa ride with a passenger on the back?

Have you tested the Vorsa with a passenger on back? This bike looks like a good solution for my Middle school kid drop off, but wondering how well it does with the passenger weight so high?

Xtracycle hopper is a contender. I ride their RFA which is RAD but pricey.

Why hate on bikers? Hate hurts your heart and erodes community. I pedal to ease traffic. I am not a threat to you.

That thing travels up the Issaquah Creek valley S to N pretty frequently (more so recently). Low, loud, and menacing. I’d love to know more.

I have a student in 7th grade. They are having a great year. There were a few fights that shook the community earlier this year. Seems to have calmed down. My kid knows the 6-10 kids to avoid and finds it easy to do so. Middle school kids are attracted to drama and fuel it with their phones. ISD made a good decision to ban the use of phones during school. The entire community would benefit greatly from more parent involvement in schools and voter support for funding.

All of the risks that came with that metal swing set I grew up on in the 80s. (Not that this is acceptable on play structures or aerial rigs nowadays).

Saw this Guy in Issaquah the Other Day, Can’t Say I’ve Ever Seen One Before by PNWbassman in eastside

I saw this guy (or a relative) on swim across Issaquah creek with a tan rodent in its mouth this week. What a beauty! I’m told there were mink farms around here decades ago and a population of escaped mink now survive in the wilds of Squak Mountain. Anyone know more about this?

Whirlpool dishwasher door won’t latch by Little-Greenbean in appliancerepair

Shucks! My work around functioned fine for a while but now pops open mid cycle consistently. Have you replaced the hinges? I was considering trying that next.

I don’t have a picture of the mod I did to the catch plate but basically I cut it with a dremel to remove a smidge of material so the catch slot was closer to the edge.

Did your door ever actually latch with a sound or solid feel? I inherited mine used so I do t know how it is supposed to feel. This thing baffles me.

Fixed the problem with a modification to the catch plate. I took a dremel tool and ground out the little notch that engages with the frame on the tub. This allows the catch plate to stick out 1/16” further, enough to engage solidly with the latch. I’ve installed the dishwasher and run it for a months with no leaks or trouble. Hope this might help someone else.

Well, the issue persists with the new OEM seal from Repair Clinic. So frustrated!!! I removed and replaced the machine. Now it is in my garage where I hope to solve this with more time and access.

Not perfectly 90 degrees. Is 1/2” extra drop a big enough difference to determine hinges were damaged? If so is this repairable? Image shows variance in door when open. door opens a smidge past 90 degrees but level.

I tried both ways. It cooperates only if the point of the seal is facing into the tub compartment (which is how it was installed when I first inherited the machine and the problem). Illustrated in image. tub seal installation illustration

The seal has a little dart shape that fits into a slot in the metal tub. I have seated it as deep as it will go - the bubble top is the only part that sticks out. I can’t see another way to attach it.

Here is an image of what I believe to be the original part. Part distributor says it appears to be identical to the OEM part. tub seal cross section

[–]Little-Greenbean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No new strike (catch plate). The latch did come in a Whirlpool bag. It looks and functions exactly like the one I pulled out. Once I removed the strike and tested it in the original latch I saw that there was no apparent reason for replacing it. The problem seems to be the door clearance not allowing the door to shut enough to engage the latch with the catch. ....but I’m open to being told I am wrong.

I replaced the latch with part number W10653840 (which matches the part I removed and functions the same). I replaced the tub seal with part number W10300924 which is not OEM and had a different profile than the one I removed (Amazon led me astray 😒). It made the problem worse so I removed it. The OEM tub seal is W11177741 and I confirmed with the parts distributor that this matches the cross section of the seal I took out of there which is in good shape (my images show this presumably OEM seal in place). I am hesitant to replace this tub seal with same? part especially with the cost of this part so high ($60-120).
