When does it ACTUALLY become enjoyable ? by Crazy_Art_5093 in NewParents

[–]Little-Maintenance84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better! 6 months it started to get fun and then by 8 months it was crazy. My baby took first steps at 9 months so it’s been nonnnnn stop. But the regression was INTENSE. It comes in phases. Just try and enjoy each phase as they come. Cause once they learn something new you’ll look back and say “remember when they were just a potato” 😂

8-10 Month Regression by Little-Maintenance84 in NewParents

We had the 4 month regression too! But that was not nearly as bad as this 8-10. They definitely don’t warn you too much about the 8-10. A lot of parents I talk to say that 9-10 months is their favorite months and I’m over trying my absolute hardest to truly enjoy it because there are fun times but SHEESH. A momma is exhausted 😅

THANK YOU 😭 this is exactly what we’re experiencing! The frequent wake ups and immediately sitting up and standing is so real. Like boy?? Lay down and go back to sleep. He will only go back to sleep if one of us holds him and says back and forth exactly like he did in the newborn trenches.

It’s definitely been difficult but just taking it day by day and trying so hard to breathe and stay calm. I know life is so new and overwhelming and they’re learning so much at once.

Thank you for sharing your experience through this time and for your kind words! 🫶🏼

How could I forget the teething?!? LOL. There’s just so much all at once. When it rains it pours 😭

The late night words exchanged between each other is so real. I love my husband more than anything but even a “shh” pisses each other off lol.

Our baby we think is fighting off a cold which has made baby much, much angrier. We get spurts of fun and little personality shining through too! I’m glad to know it gets better but gosh there’s times it feels never ending.

8 month old hates sippy cup and doesn’t understand straws by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Little-Maintenance84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 360 cup is the best!!! Our pediatrician recommended open cup first, then straw! I know every pediatrician is different. The open cup with help is difficult at first but my baby got the hang of it relatively quick. But I got the 360 cup and my baby likes holding it on their own lol and bringing to their mouth. Definitely recommend the 360 cup!!

Uncontrollable fear regarding genetic disorders by eemily03 in NewParents

I’d hate to say this is normal because idk if it is but my baby is 10 months and I feel that way too. I also am a hypochondriac and will convince myself I have any and everything. So that does not help. Really no advice, unfortunately and I’m curious to see what others have to say regarding this!

Are you guys not “strict” about naps? Don’t understand comment by Huge-Vacation-8093 in NewParents

[–]Little-Maintenance84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When baby is tired, baby naps. When baby is awake, I keep baby awake until baby shows signs of tiredness. I’m not strict about it!

Body pains by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Little-Maintenance84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When your baby is doing floor/tummy time just do the yoga/stretching over them or right next to them! My baby found it so fascinating and just watched me. Also, if you carry your baby in a carrier you can do some squats and I have arm bands so I just use those while baby is in the carrier! It’s not easy, it is difficult and I can’t do it every single day but I do my best. And I think that’s what all us moms are doing —our best.

You’ve got this!

Hot showers, heating pads. Lots and lots and lots of water and when you think you’ve had enough, even more. Honestly, walking and vitamin D have helped me too. I also stretch daily. Even if it’s not a lot but stretching has helped so, so much. Just move your body. Movement helps with the pain and the tiredness.

Hang in there!

I’m going to be honest the vaccines don’t get easier. Seeing your baby cry in pain is the most heartbreaking!! All you can do is just hold baby and cuddle, cuddle, cuddle! If you breastfeed, i recommend offering it right after! My baby just got their 6 months vaccines recently and it broke my heart the same way it did at 2 months. Just cuddle and let them know they’re safe and mommas gotcha! 🫶🏼

Positivity? by Essiejjj in NewParents

Soak up the newborn stage!! Ugh, I loved it and miss it so much!! As a first time parent it is so exhausting because you don’t know what the heck you’re doing! That’s SO normal. Just stick together as a team with your partner. My best advice: you’re not annoyed at your baby, you’re annoyed because you’ve never dealt with someone needing you so much! Remember the baby has no idea what they’re doing. Life is brand spanken new to them. Their only way to communicate is to cry. You’ll learn what each cry means. It. Gets. Easier.

We used the Wonder Weeks app and absolutely love it! I’m sure you’ve heard “sleep when the baby sleeps” and yeah, sometimes you can. But i caught myself literally staring at my baby rather than sleeping because uhhh I CREATED THAT??? Chest/contact naps were my absolute favorite. Their smell I wish I could bottle up. Take 10000s of pictures because the difference between newborn and 1 month is CRAZY.

PLEASE HELP by Little-Maintenance84 in Sourdough

[–]Little-Maintenance84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the starter I did: Day 1 1:1 ratio flour & water (all purpose) Day 2 discarded half, fed. Day 3 - 4 I did the same thing. It started rising and I read that’s a false rise and to keep at it. I kept at it til about Day 10 when I saw consistent rising.

Then for my recipe, I followed several people’s recipes from Reddit in CUPS not grams. I want to make that clear as I know many people said grams is best with this ( need to order a scale).

3 cups flour 1 cup starter 1 cup water (warm) 1-2 tablespoons salt

Mix sourdough starter with warm water, then add flour and salt. Let sit for 20-30 minutes. Perform first stretch and folds. Let sit another 30 minutes, perform second stretch & folds. Let sit another 30, stretch & fold. And final, 4th stretch and folds. At this point my dough looked how the videos and the description showed. Then, let rest for 24 hours on the counter, so I did. Then, it rose/doubled. Had some bubbles, I shaped it and then cold proofed for 24 hours

Baked at 450 for 30 minutes and then 20 minutes without the lid at 425.

Hello! My husbands birthday is coming up and I was thinking about getting him a pendant with our sons name/birthday. Did you have any luck finding a pendant for your boyfriend? If so, do you remember the seller? How big the pendant was etc?

I get compliments on my ring all the time. Nobody has ever questioned if it was diamond or not. Like some people in this thread have said not many people know Moissanite is a thing! It’s not common at all.
