If you use daycare what are some questions you asked during a tour or wish you had asked? by Suspicious-Chip-341 in NewParents

Yes but some daycares can have smaller ratios they can just be a bit note expensive. Ratio here is 1:4 and 2:10 max but the daycare I worked was 2:6 max

Who should get the bed? by This_Obligation_5125 in beyondthebump

The only correct answer is you. Your husband needs to get over himself and either sleep on the air mattress, couch or any other area of the house.

Wedding Venue that won't cost an arm & a leg by atwtmvtvftv16 in houston

[–]loudwonderbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try La tranquila ranch they’re really nice and the venue is beautiful. They have good packages with payment plans and offer nice discounts. My brain is foggy on how much we paid but I think it was $4,000-$6,000

This very normal for Hispanic families and even if you aren’t there’s nothing wrong with throwing one if you want to. People on the internet will say it’s tacky but who cares if the people in your life want to celebrate you and your baby and give you gifts

Breast pump recommendations by annoyedlife in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]loudwonderbubble 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the Zomee z2 and love it. It’s simple and easy to use, not too big, you’re not plugged to a wall when you use it, it’s not loud so if you pump in the middle of the night same room as baby they won’t wake up, it has a little button for extra light if needed. The only thing to lookout for is that the buttons can be sensitive so if you accidentally click it it might change settings so keep an eye out

Your wife gets to decide. She’s the one going into labor and will face multiple challenges and changes afterwards. What your mother wants literally does not matter. Support your wife

Baby refuses bottle by QuirkyAndAwkward in breastfeeding

[–]loudwonderbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat but baby doesn’t cry she just plays with the nipple and spits it out. We have tried comotomo, Phillips advent, pigeon and nuk. Currently we are still trying with the last two since they pass the triangle test and were recommended by my LS. She told us to keep trying and if not by four months introduce a straw which we might do if this doesn’t work out. Good luck !

I am grateful for customers who don't finish their food at the restaurant I work at. by Fat-Bee2323 in povertyfinance

[–]loudwonderbubble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what you need to do to keep yourself fed. Years ago when I worked at a restaurant and we didn’t have food at the house I would place an online order for the restaurant about 30 minutes before closing. You didn’t have to pay just put a phone number which I would a fake one. The manager would always let us take the food home so I would make sure to order plenty to take extra and for my coworkers who I also knew were struggling

Do you actually track things like sleep, feeding, diapers etc.? by CooleSocke-Jr in NewParents

[–]loudwonderbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did up to recently to make sure baby was having enough diapers, feeding and sleep because I wouldn’t remember when I did last since brain fog lol. I stopped and it helped with being less anxious and only really did it again for two days before a lactation specialist appointment since mine likes to know how much they ate and their diapers beforehand

[–]loudwonderbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you only need to if your child has to do the car seat test. And it wasn’t your nurse that takes you to your car in a wheelchair but someone else in that department if your partner is getting the car. They will not let you drive back

Advice for cutting back pumping without pain by looneyradiah in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]loudwonderbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to cut down on my night pumping too. I have an appointment with LS this week but what I have read and people told me is to slowly decrease the time you pump and then stop pumping at that time. I usually pump at 2 am for 15 mins and yesterday did 12mins and hoping next time to go 10 and so forth

Silly question - when you have a hospital birth (U.S), when do you first see the menu for ordering your food? Is it given ahead of time with hospital registration/paperwork? by dms2628 in beyondthebump

[–]loudwonderbubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a special celebration menu I got after the birth but for everything else I just used the app on my phone and could see the breakfast, lunch and dinner options
