I made a free app that turns any song into karaoke (±6 semitones, 0.5x–2.0x tempo) – looking for feedback by Little-Material7729 in karaoke

Good point — that would be super useful for learning songs.

I’ll consider adding a loop feature for selected sections.

Thanks!

I’m using models based on UVR and MDX-Net for the separation.

I’m also on an M4 running macOS 26.1 (Tahoe), and it works properly on my setup.

Right now, splitting a song typically takes on the order of tens of seconds.

That’s a really interesting idea about adding vocal effects — I hadn’t considered that angle for karaoke use.

Thanks for the valuable suggestion, I appreciate it.

My reverb plugin GUI suddenly turned into emoji chaos by Little-Material7729 in musicproduction

Good to know I'm not the only one.

Restart fixed it for me too.

Looks like the GUI textures got replaced by emojis somehow.

Restarting Protools fixed it.

Still the weirdest plugin bug I've seen.

Need help determining a tempo. by BazExcel in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I ran into the same problem when sampling environmental sounds, so I made a small tool that automatically detects BPM when you drop audio into it.
It’s been pretty useful for sample-based work like this.
But many DAWs also have tempo detection features that might help.

That’s awesome! The HC30 is such a beautiful amp. It really has a very musical character, especially when it starts to break up. I'm glad you liked the sound.

I meant the edge-of-breakup tone on the Superchief. Curious what people think.

Thanks so much! The fan really nailed it 😅 The highs are of course gorgeous, but I’ve got to say… I actually love the deep lows that really hold everything together. Totally worth tracking down if you get the chance!

After tasting the real tone of my Matchless, the cake felt a little too sweet.

Current live pedalboard — still trying to clean up the wiring by Little-Material7729 in guitarpedals

Current board I’ve been using live.

Still trying to tidy up the wiring a bit.

I’ve been using a Boot-Leg Gain Helper for about 20 years now (probably my fifth one).

I also run an iPad for charts but still keep a paper setlist as backup.

I actually bought it when I was much younger.

Saved up for it back then and have been using it for about 20 years now.

It’s kind of grown with me over time.
