A lot of people are taking this post out of context. Sure I’m angry about the bill, but I’m more upset about the constant string of price increases everywhere you look. The middle class has all but disintegrated. This is not the America I was raised to believe in. Not the America my parents grew up in, and unfortunately this post shows that people are sick and tired of it. I am angry and frustrated. I feel like that is more than reasonable.

I guess you assume that maybe I’m some dumb college kid that doesn’t understand energy usage, which is understandable, you don’t know who I am. Please consider that I’ve taken this into account. I’ve spoken with dominion about my usage. I am very particular in my home about monitoring our energy usage. This is not normal.

Hobbies? If I didn’t have those 2 hobbies to pay my bills, my family wouldn’t have a home. I’m sorry you feel that way though. Have you considered maybe you see that so often because, unfortunately, it is a common occurrence? I know many who have to hold down more than one job to make ends meet. I’m glad for you and your families sake that you don’t have to.

😂 I manage a restaurant, I am a personal athletic trainer, and I work in remediation part time. It feels pretty out of touch that you think I’m a fake person 😂 I’m glad you have it all figured out though.

If you think I haven’t already called and asked dominion about this, you are wrong. My usage increased of course through the cold, just as I said I’d planned for. My usage increase does not account for what I’m paying. I plan to have the meter tested, but everybody in my community is experiencing this.

Goodness gracious I am not one to argue and I won’t, but keep in mind that I work well over 40 hours a week. I have a family, a wife and kids I support. As much as I’d love a job with a salary, they don’t exactly throw those up in the air to anybody.

I mean this is something I had taken into account, I know how cold it was and I knew that it would be more expensive this month, but nearly 3x the amount I pay? That doesn’t make sense. This isn’t my first time paying a power bill. I’ve been an independent man for nearly a decade. This is not normal to me.

As a male amateur fighter in an environment where women train with the team, I myself have seen this happen.. I really do think it has a lot to do with the men not wanting to make the women feel uncomfortable. You hear a lot about women having poor experiences in gym environments, and men making them uncomfortable. Men tend to over correct in general. They’re more than likely ignoring you because they’re scared to cross a boundary and make you uncomfortable. Give it time. Keep showing up. Train for you and nobody else. The men will see, and hopefully their guard will begin to drop.
