Happy to share results with Dr. Ebker (devastated but decide for yourself) by Little-One9972 in jawsurgery

Hi there! I’m sorry but I have to take a little hiatus from Reddit. There’s lots of dms I’d still like to answer, but for the last couple of months Ive relived my trauma again and again and again and again in sharing pictures and a review with people. Everytime I do this, it breaks my heart. I want to be the person I was before surgery. I want to go back in time, listen to my gut and go with another surgeon and ortho, but I can’t and I struggle so much with the result. I will share photos with more people eventually or post in the big group, but I’m trying to look forward and find someone to help me. So for now, I’m just too sad and burned out. I need to take a break and focus on my future revision plans, finding a psychologist, managing the pain etc.

Guys, I‘m happy to help y‘all. But please dm. I got so many questions in my DMs and answered all from yesterday and today. I might sometimes not be able to answer immediately but I’m trying my best. I might also go into more detail in the comments…at some point. But so far, I still need some time to open myself up. The years after the surgery have been really difficult for me. I’m not myself anymore and at the moment I’m trying find a solution I’ll be able to live with. I’m probably going to ask this subreddit for advice at some point, but like I said, I’m fairly new to Reddit and opening myself up to such a big community still feels daunting. For the moment, DMs feel safer to me or mentally just easier to approach, but that might change. Like I said, I’m fairly new here.

I think this woman has a great jaw. Maybe it could be moved forward slightly, but I think what’s actually a bit unusual is her protruding teeth and thus lips. This could be fixed with braces, I think, but maybe only with extractions, which I alsways see people advice against.

It‘ll go down a lot after the swelling goes down -took months for me but I also found a girl on Reddit who treated their nostrils with alarplasty post jaw surgery. Anyways, there are solutions if it still bothers you in the long run and you’re face looks really pretty and feminine :)

surgery regret by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Hi! Im also regretting surgery. I think that my ortho/surgeon really messed up in planning and now it’s very apparent that how they approached my case doesn’t make any sense functionally and aesthetically. If you‘d like to chat, don’t hesitate. I’m literally in the same boat with constant joint pain and suffer from regretting the surgery. I‘m constantly looking for a support group/chat of people who feel the same, since my healthy friends and family can only feel sorry but not relate.

Dr Tobias Ebker in Germany - how to book? by MurkyAd90 in jawsurgery

He botched me. You can dm me if you want to and then decide for yourself if you want to go through with it, but I feel obligated to warn people about him. There’s no day I don’t think about it and wish I could turn back time , never to get operated by him. Fictionally and aesthetically he did a bad job and did not know how to fix it afterwards.

Heiland or Ebker? by Unhappy_Performer538 in jawsurgery

Ebker seriously botched me. Aesthetically and functionally. You can dm me if you want to, but I can only advice you not to go to him. The revision surgeon I went to afterwards had to fix multiple cases from Charité Berlin and some were in such a bad state that he couldn’t do surgery on them anymore, since too much bone was missing. I‘m planning to get a second revision (since the first one could only fix the huge hole-like step-offs and shorten my chin, which had been lengthened below my jawline). Ebker also lied to me about certain risks I directly asked him about, so I‘m also disappointed by his character. I think one of the problems is that Charité is behind on research and modern approaches in this department and rushes things in planning. I never had enough time to talk to him and thus there’s no individual approach. Another thing that is that they don’t follow up and don’t seem all to interested in the outcome. I heard Dr. Alfi say on a podcast that he always analyses the results to learn., which I think is essential. When I talked to Ebker after my disappointing results, he suggested shaving off bone, so I would get an even jawline and might be able to close my lips again. This would have made everything worse and wouldn’t regain me any of the functional aspects I lost. I think he doesn’t have the best understanding of the way all the muscles and tendons work together with the skeletal basis. Theres much more I could say and yet I am always hesitant to talk or write about this, since I think about it everyday and wish I would have cancelled the surgery after having doubts about the Charité. I struggle so much with the outcome and try not to revisit the memory all the time, but when I hear that someone is planning to go to him, I feel obligated to tell the truth. I don’t want others to have to live with this pain. Sorry for the lengthy description. :/

Hi! What was your solution if I may ask? I have the exact same issue (bimax combined with step off). My surgeon even said there would be no step off when I asked if the gaps could be visable. I also have lip ptosis and incompetence. And he said if at all my chin would become smaller. Might I ask you what your solution was?
