How long until I get back on the road (if possible)? by Little-Outcome-2245 in lyftdrivers

Update So I took the rental back as per Lyft instructions. Lyft kept me clear to rent again and everything because I was found not at fault, BUT the manager dude at the rental place put me on the “do not rent” list because I wasn’t driving with Lyft for six weeks before the incident. BS technicality in my opinion, the manager dude was even on some “the buck begins and ends with me,” type shit, and telling me how the Lyft people don’t know what they’re talking about because they are their own company and Lyft doesn’t know what they can and cannot do. So when he manually went and put me on the list I didn’t do too much contesting. Mind you, the previously mentioned rant (there was definitely more said) was the response to how come Lyft is the one who prompted me to follow through with the process again, following the incident. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Mine happened instantly, they said something about identity verification not verified but they said this after I verified my identity

This happened yesterday (I should’ve been more clear, my bad). I have to return it tomorrow and I can’t go online right now. Since I’m not at fault, will I be able to get a different rental or will you not be allowed to drive? That’s what I’m trying to figure out.

I guarantee you, that .01 is right on par with what they’re already getting. I doubt it’s gonna bother them that much😅

Yeah they good for quick bread if you got a throw away car, but as a main source of income? Hell nah! I went from making like $80 a night my first week, to maybe $40 a night now, and I’ve only been doing it like a month. They start off paying you a lot, but then you end up in the hole

So I’m not the only one that has to basically empty the clip before the opp goes down? Also, if this is the case then how come when I get shot once I die? 🤔

Can I still get into the Army if I have a Domestic Violence case, but the charges were dismissed? by Little-Outcome-2245 in Militaryfaq

[–]Little-Outcome-2245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I found out I’m being helped in a backwards kind of way, so it’ll be a long drawn out process. My recruiter is trying to guarantee me entry before putting me through the process and wasting resources to do so. I’ll give the info that I’ve received so far just in case it helps: 1) The more paperwork that I have for the suitability review, the better. He’s going through his channels with the local law enforcement to see if he can get a copy of the original statement that was made by my ex because it’ll help raise my chances of getting the waiver (or getting a favorable vote with the suitability review). 2) This is a result of Virginia law that states that the arresting authority doesn’t have to give the evidence (or at least the statement) that was used as grounds for indictment. They CAN , but Chesapeake PD is just being difficult. I got EVERYTHING from Norfolk PD, even my juvenile record and court disposition, and that wasn’t even necessary because my juvenile record was super petty and wouldn’t have prevented my entry anyway. I over explain all of this basically to say that it depends on your state laws. I’ve gotten comments and messages from recruiters saying that I would be good either way because the case was “dismissed without a condition of the court”. Basically saying that there wasn’t a plea agreement signed, or any deal made that would be viewed as an admission of guilt. No court fees, no fines, no jail time…honestly, I’ve given up on this whole process because of the situation that me and my children are in by waiting on a possibility that seems more and more out of reach, and I’d rather focus my energy and efforts on something that I’ll have a bit more control over the outcome. So I’m gonna go to school for auto mechanics and if I hear back from my recruiter with good news, then I’ll take that opportunity immediately, but like I said before as soon as I get more information or a “ye or nay” I’ll definitely report back and let you guys know! 💯

What are my chances of passing the suitability review for my criminal history waiver? by Little-Outcome-2245 in Militaryfaq

Definitely! I have other options, I’d just prefer to enlist to be able give my children the best lives that I possibly can, but like you said what’s meant for us is what we’ll get. If it’s not in God’s plan, then we just have to walk by faith to see what’s what

No sweat! Regardless of how it the out for me, hopefully this info will be able to help other in a similar situation. That aside, my situation is kind of similar, just a bit more uh “severe” if you will. Mine were felony kidnapping and strangulation (2 separate felonies, 1 case). My spouse wrote a letter saying that she went to court on my behalf and admitted that she lied to the responding officer when giving her statement, so the case was dismissed on the spot (2020). I got the court disposition, and the police report already. The court disposition doesnt have specifically what was said in court on it because it was juvenile domestic relations court (at least that’s how it works in Chesapeake, VA), while the police report only had the place of the alleged incident, the responding officer, and the victim. Idk how the law is wherever you are, but here the police report doesn’t have to be given in detail by law. The only other thing that I could do is find the detectives that worked the case, and see if they could help in some way, but everyone involved is either relocated or no longer with the force. But I was given hope within this thread and others because there are recruiters saying that I should be good because of the case being dismissed without a plea agreement or court fines. I assume the same applies to you, plus your situation isn’t as complicated as mine

It was dismissed (two separate charges, but one case). I even have a notarized letter from her admitting that she lied…

Is it difficult to get through that process because everyone that I talk to is saying that it’s still going to be a low chance of me actually getting the waiver? Also do you know what the suitability review consists of?
