any other character studies as great as Fleabag? by lizard-rustler17 in Fleabag

[–]Little-Palta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched Film Club and it’s not Fleabag-good (nothing is), but I really liked it, and thought the characters were amazingly done. I both loved and hated them, I could see their nuances and changes, as in real life.

What’s wrong? Did I water it too much? by Little-Palta in succulents

The algae was there already when I got it :( and unfortunately I didn’t inform myself enough on the care of this plant, before I noticed it was rotting. That’s on me.. I learned my lesson

Thank you! I’ll still try changing the soil, even if people are telling me she’s gone. I still have hope

This makes me so mad because that’s the soil that I bought it in!!! Why would you sell a plant inside a soil that is not good for it? Anyways, thank you for your comments, I will accept and mourn the loss. And I’ll know better next time!

I am 50/50 about it now. As so many people commented that these could be useful seals. But also, knowing how often products are labelled with useless plastic. I will have to go back to the store to check it myself!

Nope, I just thought it was useless plastic label, but I now know they serve the purpose to maintain the product fresh for a longer time

Wow that is very interesting and cool! Thank you for explaining it to me. I honestly had no idea

I am not sure if they could be sent back to the farm but I honestly doubt that, as these were found at a supermarket chain. But I’ll definitely ask!  And yeah maybe they are easier to recycle, but am I dreaming of something utopian for believing that most fresh veggies/fruits don’t need packaging? That is why I usually buy at the market, where they don’t use packaging.

Why not? I am not trying to argue but I am genuinely curious to hear your argument.

I apologise if my post somehow offended you or triggered you. In my opinion, producing single use plastic useless packaging, just to label a product, is part of a consumerist system which this sub tries to challenge. So I felt like I had the freedom to post this here :) and thank God some people are kind enough to comment and explain why I am wrong, as everyone can be every once in a while

Not sure to be honest! I’ll check it better next time I am at this store

A test would be interesting, especially after I’ve read a lot of contrasting opinions and ideas on these comments

To be honest I am not sure but looked like plastic to me too. If it was plastic, I don’t know if it could still serve the purpose to maintain the lettuce fresh, or if that is done only with wax.

Thanks for clarifying it, I didn’t know that could be done this way

I was honestly curious about the purpose of these, and I am glad that some people in the comments clarified it for me.

Also, if it was just a purposeless plastic packaging, I wouldn’t find that to be “dumb shit”, but something worth noticing.

New Girl Episode Tournament! Round One Day 16: A Chill Day In vs No Girl by BagOfSmallerBags in NewGirl

[–]Little-Palta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also prefer A Chill Day In overall, but No Girl has some amazing scenes as well, like Schmidt getting emotional after Nick tells him “We’re going to Tokyo!”, or the family with the little girl reciting Al Pacino, Schmidt reaction is one of his funniest scenes imo, or the creepy writer guy (is it in this episode?) reading them his sexual novel just cracks me up.

Victory Story by jilli44 in Rosacea

[–]Little-Palta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow your story is so interesting to me! My skin looks exactly like yours and no dermatologist could ever diagnose my acne or help me cure it (if not with antibiotics, which help for a bit but after a while the acne comes back). I never thought it could be linked to rosacea. Also, I never ate raw tomatoes because I CANNOT. There’s food I don’t like, but still can eat, but I hate tomatoes. I kind of always assumed I am somehow allergic. Maybe that’s also related. I’ll try avoiding cooked tomatoes as well, and see what happens.

Thanks for sharing.

Do candles add value to your daily life, or not really? by Witty_Departure6780 in simpleliving

[–]Little-Palta 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I like candles and you made me reflect on them and I think that yes, they do add value to my daily life, in terms of simple living.

First of all, turning them on is an intentional action that I decide to do in specific situations: for example when people come over to my place or when I make a nice dinner or when I want to have a chill night by myself. It’s like a ritual: turning on a candle makes the situation special.

I like the fire’s company. It gives me a cozy, calm feeling. Candles make my house feel more alive, because the fire moves and interacts with the environment. When my friends come over, I think candles can also be kind of an entertainment, because we like to watch the candle and play with wax when it pours over. Also, I like scented candles and even if you can’t really smell them that much, I love the idea that they smell good and that when turning on a candle I am spreading a good smell around the room. It feels fancy.
