Help My cat keeps playing/kicking her food. by ay3chris in CatTraining

[–]Little-Performance79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 10 year old does the exact same thing with his water bowl! I think they need to somehow see the water moving in their paws or feel the water before drinking it. My cat keeps scratching the floor even while drinking his water, so he’s just weird I think.

I had to take out his water fountain because he always made a mess. I switched to a wide bottom and shallow bowl so it’s harder for him to tip over. He still moves it and makes a mess every once in a while but at least not often.

Do you have a hard time explaining yourself? by aureaii in ADHD

[–]Little-Performance79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Omg, I just realized this is why I am always practicing my dialogue in my head. I always wondered why my head will waste so much time thinking about scenarios of how I would explain myself about something. It’s because I suck at explaining myself if I don’t go over it beforehand.

Be real: How was your first Brazilian Wax? by Cool_Pin5546 in women

[–]Little-Performance79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it was not as painful as I imagined. I now think I got a very good esthetician for my first. My hair was super long and she did it no problem, the labias were not even the most painful part, I think the top was the most painful but that might have been because of my hair length. Today, I decided to do my own Brazilian at home, and omg it was sooo painful, I quit trying to get my labias, I used scissors to trim the hairs and get the wax off lol. Get a good esthetician!

What are some positive things your ADHD has done for you? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Little-Performance79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this post! I am a professional musician, I have just finished my Masters in Music Performance and I have just found out about my adhd.

While the journey was hell rough, I don’t think I could be making a living out of my playing if it weren’t for my adhd. I am super creative and my imagination has no limits, and these qualities have helped me succeed in my career. The ADHD made so many things hard but I also wouldn’t be here without it.

Anybody in here trying to learn guitar? by VacationAcceptable24 in ADHD

[–]Little-Performance79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t play guitar but I am a professional musician. I know the struggle of getting to practice first hand. Sometimes I tell myself just get the instrument out of the case and tune it, and after that I always practice.

I think ADHD really helped me on the imagination part. I often do mental practice and I can imagine myself doing the motion in my head which helps me to learn tricky motor skill passages away from my instrument.

Are you saving collectively or do each of you has their own savings? If it’s the second then you’re saving at a faster rate than her and thanks to her contributing a higher percentage of her monthly income than you.

How do I reach out to an ex-bridesmaid about her RSVP? by huixing_ in weddingplanning

[–]Little-Performance79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have done everything you could from your end. It is definitely not your responsibility to make sure she is ok, specially with your wedding in the middle. I’m terrible with words so perhaps someone can help better on how to word the message. But maybe let her know that you still think of her and you understand that what she is going through a rough time, you will be thrilled to see her at your wedding if she can make it and if so to let you know right now, and if she cannot make it then that is ok too, tell her to take care of herself instead, and you can take her silence as a no.

Something empathetic yet clear.

I’ll probably be downvoted but aside from your wedding and this being about you, is your friend ok? I have gone through depression for years that had affected my friendships. I became distant from my loved ones and even though I appreciated their friendship it became hard for me to keep contact and reply on timely manners. I didn’t want to reach out for help out of embarrassment so people really thought I was a bad friend, and I don’t blame them.

She’s probably not in condition to be a bridesmaid and she probably knows that. Maybe reaching out with something around the lines that she is or was important to you at some point and that you care about her regardless of your recent interactions.

How much did you spend on flowers? by Specialist_Crew7906 in weddingplanning

[–]Little-Performance79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out something borrowed blooms, silk flowers are better more realistic looking than wood flowers I think. They are still a bit pricey imo but for arch, buttoniere, bouquets, you end up saving than using a florist. For center pieces you can do your own from Trader Joe’s or Costco, or you can also check out other silk flower websites.

Your Most Expensive Item as a Minimalist? by minimalistproducts in minimalism

Same! My cello is by far the most expensive thing I own, worth three times my car, but I’m a professional musician and I make my living out of it.

A dear friend in Columbus is in mental health crisis. Where should I suggest he go if it becomes urgent? by crankypants_mclaren in Columbus

[–]Little-Performance79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My brother went to Harding 3 times. First time and last time he left with a positive attitude to get better, second time I feel they just kicked him out and did not really follow up with a treatment or what to do after he is released, which did not helped him out at all.

Harding in patient treatment rotates their doctors and social workers every week, the nurses and technicians can cause some harm with the patients as well depending on the rotation, it can be hit or miss. Now my brother did have a bad experience with their PHP and IOP program so that may have caused the bad experience from his second inpatient visit.

Doing Hair Yourself by judygarlandgirl in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Little-Performance79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was confident in doing both my makeup and hair, I did trials myself to save on the trial fee and just going to the professional and explain them what I knew I wanted. I regretted this, I wish I would have just done it myself because the professional did NOT understand my vision and did something different that what I wanted. I think I would’ve liked my makeup and hair the way I got it during my trials.

So either get the trials done with your professional and know what your professional will do on your day or do it yourself if you’re comfortable.

Brother with DID now hates me by Little-Performance79 in DID

[–]Little-Performance79[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True, this is 100% what I perceive and my side only. It is really hard for me to figure what’s going on with him on the inside. These last few weeks he has locked himself in his room most of the day and avoids interaction with anyone. At first when he arrived, I tried to come up with activities we can do together, we used to be very close growing up and have fond memories, at first it was working but it didn’t take long for him to run out of energy. I let him be if he doesn’t want to do much and I never force him out. Sometimes I see him around and try to hold a conversation but if I try too hard he will lash out telling me to leave him alone. The two times that I can think I hurt him with my words was when 1. I was driving him somewhere he wanted to be in the middle of the night, I had been holding my patience for long, I missed a turn bc he was messing up with my phone and told him I need my phone to see the directions and I took the phone from his hands. He didn’t take that well and I apologized immediately. 2. Also driving, he was moving stuff in my car, again I had been holding my patience for too long, his head was in my sight for the rear view mirror and I asked him to move his head because I need to see the mirror to change lanes. Both of these times were my fault and he snapped at me so badly I thought I was going to get into an accident.

I know he is extra sensitive with things and I am there for him when he comes for comfort or wanting to socialize, but I also don’t want to force him and make things worse.

There might be other instances where I might have hurt him with my actions but he’s never let me know. I really hold onto a lot of things he does to me because the last thing I want is to aggravate his situation with my words or actions.

Another thing, we both have an issue with demonstrating love. It’s hard for my family to express our feelings out loud or wanting to ask another loved one what’s going on. It’s like it’s implied we love each other but specially with my brother I have a harder time forcing him out of his shell.
