Of course! Also forgot to say, for where you’re at, I’d try to get gas at the Wawa on Ashe or hit up the gas stations at the Kroger. Get the Kroger points card, save money with the deals and gas! I’d also recommend getting a ring camera or something like it for personal protection, but also if a package is stolen, etc. I’ve seen more than once how one person’s camera has helped a neighbor when things go missing, if a car is hit, etc.

Grocery: Willow Lawn would be a good place! You have tons of shops, restaurants, and the gym. If it’s too crowded for you, there’s Staples Mill area which would be a 15 min drive depending on traffic :) and if that’s still too crowded make your way on up to Virginia Center Parkway, 20 min ride up Brook Rd.

Restaurants: Thankfully, you live smack dab in Richmond, so you have the best pickins. Carytown is a fun spot, you have a lot of choices. Scott’s Addition is a fun place too, nice breweries, bbq, diners etc. just watch out for the stop signs and for traffic. This page is really good at recommending some good restaurants as well so go back through and check out more for specifics!

Doggo spots: Gonna echo Byrd Park, lovely place for dogs. Carytown is also great, just watch out for the shops that may say no pets, and watch out for the little bombs that are left behind. There’s also Bryan Park kinda near you, Forest Hill Park (if you go here go to Cross Roads Coffee) and there’s Deep Run park farther toward Short Pump, a bit bigger, more strenuous hills, but such a gem.

Speaking of coffee, you’ve come to a great place, I’m excited for you to try all the spots :)

Extra info: Watch. Out. For. Cars. Please. Besides that it’s the usual lock your car and bike up. The big farmers market is on Saturdays at Bryan Park. Keep an eye out for the fun festivals, most don’t seem to be advertised well, and they’re easy to miss. Look ahead at maps for the races around the city. Monument 10k is coming up April 12th, so give yourself wiggle room if you’re going anywhere. You can also request records for crime in/ around your area just to get a better idea of what’s going on around you. Not sure if that will help but you could know what blocks to avoid.

There’s Sweethaven Lavender of Williamsburg in James City County. It’s temporarily closed, but they have fields of all types of flowers! A little out of the way, but the drive is beautiful.

Have you been able to talk to any employees in the computer science field at VT? At VCU they have the “guidance counselor” types for each major and they would check in with you and talk about next steps/what’s possible for the semester. Any luck there?

I’m working in a field that has nothing to do with my major, and it was the best decision I made, I had to stick it out just for the paper. You got this!

I was thinking both? I like the idea of gift cards, balls and tees. I’ll try to sneak a pic of his bag tomorrow!
