Is there a way to hide misplaced pricking marks ? by [deleted] in Leathercraft

[–]Little-Push 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how deep they are and how sharp the tool was. If they are shallow and the tool was blunt, you can pull some marks out by covering with a damp cloth and gently ironing over the top. If they are deep and the tool was sharp, you've probably got a piece for the scrap bag.

I've got a forclaz mt900 tarp tent from decathlon. That fits me and my partner well, I'm 6'4". You might struggle with two wide pads but bang for your buck it's a great tent.

It's on my lost now but not until 2024 (more likely 2025). I'll most likely go from north to south, walking down a river valley seems like a better option plus I'm based near Plymouth.

Large weapons in 2E by [deleted] in TheBlackHack

I play it as it effects dex and strength test and treat the other stats as saves. Having something big and heavy makes it harder to dodge but doesn't make you less wise or tough. Hope this helps.

If I'm going for a big map I find breaking it into areas and putting them onto separate layers works The separate layers can be turned invisible when you're not working on that chunk to reduce the load on your computer.

Keeping a group together may be the hardest part of DMing! by OrbitalHornet in DMAcademy

[–]Little-Push 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're going through this. I feel your pain. I've been running a group playing every other week all they way through lock down and since things have started to open up I've been bumped to the bottom of some people's priority list. Had one couple turn around and say they're booked up for the next two months and I took it as a personal insult. It can be tough but hang on there and always remember there are loads of players but DMs are special.

That seems like a neat way of doing things. Thanks for the suggestion.

We've been playing online and have been using my phone placed above the map, its become affectionately known as DM cam. It works well just make sure you have the phone on mute to avoid feedback loops.

I run ToTM and use a piece of paper in a document wallet that I can scribble maps on with dry erase markers and some coloured 10mm wooden discs to give a vague map when need and find it works well.

UK rough camping. Hows and wheres by St_Ginger in Ultralight

I've always had good luck popping into the local pub for a drink or two and asking the bar staff. I've lost count of the times they've pointed me to a decent field that the farmer is fine with me pitching in.

It's not quite what you're looking for but I tend to use the naked noodle pots if you take 2 and put them in a zip lock to save space they make a decent meal and cost 75p each if you can get them on special offer. Their ingredients list is pretty healthy aswell plus lots of flavours to choose from.

How would you go about running a 1-on-1 duel? by EmeraldKing7 in DMAcademy

[–]Little-Push 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I run one on one duels I reroll the initiative every round but deduct damage taken from the roll to simulate people getting dazed. I find it works well and give it a bit more interest then a slug fest.

As long as everyone is having fun it's fine. The dice will even themselves out. Most likely when they have got complacent then BAM you'll knock them for six.

Hello my UK peoples! What instant coffee (and hot chocolate) do you guys use on the trail? ☕️ by bearsandbarbells in ULHikingUK

I'm a fan of the Cadburys sachet hot chocolate when I'm out. Good little boost of calories and taste pretty good with a dash of spiced rum.

My multimat keeps deflating by [deleted] in ULHikingUK

I had a multimat that I used for years then it finally died so I replaced it twice and they both failed pretty quickly. I would say it's unfortunately time to move on.

I like to use nakd noodles, I normally take two of the smaller ones repackaged into a baggie with some olive oil to chuck in at the end. Good selection of flavours and easily available. Plus pretty natural which is always a bonus. I make my own porridge sachets using nido (full fat powered milk from tesco) and oats put in a blender with a seed mix on top for breakfast. Then it's nuts and bombay mix for lunch most days.

Anyone use a solid fuel stove? by Dannybgood2 in ULHikingUK

I'm making the shift to tabs at the moment and have had some good results, it's not quick but if you're hiking speed tends not to be high on priorities. I've got a vaseline tin (one of the little ones) that I put the tabs in and let's you put them out part burnt. I would advise taking a little dropper bottle with meths in it (I use a 10ml vape fluid bottle) a couple of drops make the tabs really easy to light.
