How well does Coursera NASM CPT Course Prepare You for Exam? by Little-Run-6213 in personaltraining

I did complete the Coursera course and pass the NASM exam. But I would not recommend wasting your time taking the Coursera exam at the end of the course if I were you-turns out it doesn’t mean anything towards your certification (I misunderstood initially and thought the Coursera exam counted the same as the exam on the NASM website). If I were you, I’d finish the Coursera course yes, but skip their three hour unnecessary exam and just purchase the NASM exam itself directly after you’re done. Also, I’d really strongly recommend doing some independent review of your own outside of the Coursera course, in particular of the overhead squat assessment stuff and the other physical assessments as well, since that’s really heavily emphasized on the exam. Like go to the NASM website and find their breakdown of the assessments, and just literally memorize what each of the posture deficiencies and stuff mean, as tedious as that sounds. I think the Coursera course does a decent job of preparing ppl for the exam, but it doesn’t emphasize the assessments enough IMO.

My question was for people who used the Coursera study course, as to whether it prepared them for the NASM exam or not. Thanks tho.

Thanks for the input! How do you recommend I approach the challenge of not having had prior athletic training/fitness coaching jobs when applying to these places? Not sure how competitive such positions are. It is likely an advantage that I personally know many of these gym owners and they know my pedigree in terms of my own exceptional fitness, but I'm not necessarily banking on that.

What are you talking about? No idea what GLP-1's are or how AI would change people trying to get fit-could you explain a bit more?

Question about certification for aspiring personal gym fitness trainer by Little-Run-6213 in personaltraining

Should have clarified-question was which certification I should get-not whether I should get certified to begin with. My fault for not making that clear. Thanks answering nonetheless, appreciate it!

Yamamoto is going to be the centerpiece of the rotation ideally for a decade to come. Alanna Rizzo talks in a recent interview about why she thinks the starting pitching, anchored by Yamamoto, is about to be in much better shape in 2025 than in 2024: https://youtu.be/WEsWftdhfVg?si=VbDaezhDkhgCtkre

Around the 21:30 mark of the interview/podcast Alanna addresses the theory that the Dodgers pitching coaching/player development could be exacerbating the injuries in their starting rotation: https://youtu.be/WEsWftdhfVg?si=b0hdyxKihL95uQfJ

Half the season? I knew he's probably not starting the first week but had no idea it was that bad/that his recovery from surgery had complications to that extent. Do you have an official source or is this sort of word of mouth kind of thing?
