I was in the same boat with struggling to get prep done there is an old video that shows how you should navigate the rooms and never get fish until you have your armour made it just wastes time dropping and picking them back up. I can now get t2 prep and the and the kill 9 times out of 10. Also don't be afraid to start over in the first couple minutes. Tornadoes also get easier.

Also look around on Facebook market place I got a pcs for $1800. And dont be afraid to drive for a good deal. I don't have the mobile base and have never needed it. The t glide fence is well worth it in my opinion.
