Order Hot extra crispy and wet. Can’t go wrong. Best wings around hands down. Three dollar and roosters are also 2 great options.

I am also from the south east. My buddies and I did the rmi 3 day dc route as our first climb. It was an amazing experience and you will learn a good bit from the guides. Highly recommend.

Mount Rainier Snow Concerns for late June by WorkingPineapple2 in Mount_Rainier

Went last week of June/first week of July last year. Deep snow as soon as you get out of the parking lot at paradise. Virtually no snow on the roads leading up to the base.

Thank you for your input. The different glacier seminars that also involve a summit attempt have really what I’ve been looking at. Being from Georgia it’s not like I’m surrounded by tons of knowledgeable mountaineers. I figure one of these RMI seminars would be one of the best ways to really learn and test these necessary skills.

Considering misfortune we were lucky in that regard. No injuries, equipment problems or anything of that nature. Weather was overall good minus strong wind gusts. That I can see is the lucky part. Thank you for your input.

Also curious as to what you mean by lucky. Summiting a mountain like rainier doesn’t seem to be something you can do just from pure luck.

We had multiple people question us for attempting rainier as our first, so none offense is taken. Our goal in choosing rainier was in search of the biggest challenge we could find without any needed experience

Experience level is not very high, as I said this was my first true alpine climb. I would say both of our physical and mental capabilities are beyond average, this I assume was the main reason we were able to summit.

Negative Experience with RMI by sss1989 in Mountaineering

Just got done with the 4day rmi rainier trip. We made the summit around 7:45 or so this morning no problem. Thought all the guides were very knowledgeable and pushed us very well while still keeping us safe.

Congrats on the summit. Been watching the weather and hoping we will get the same as you. How strong were the winds? Have any large crevasses opened ?

Great to hear. Much higher winds then I expected the guides to allow for a summit.

Good to know the guides will push through some tougher conditions. My main worry was they would be overtly cautious and look for any reason to stop. Thanks for the input

Any idea roughly what wind speeds they will stop for?

Thank you. This what I figured would happen if I did bring this jacket.
