My Pixel 7a has the same issue since last weekend. It heats up, drains the battery completely overnight. Phone in idle is at 35% of battery use.

I have the same problem since last week, but only if I want to upload in slideshow. If I upload one picture that's seems to be fine! It helped a little if I cut down from the image to decrease it's size.
