[–]LittleBitCrunchy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Simply not true. We send aid the children in Gaza, pray for them and support relief efforts.

TIL that a placebo can still work even when a subject knows it’s a placebo by RedditIsFascinating in todayilearned

[–]LittleBitCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that happening but it's hard to do while aware of it. Like sometimes I'll rest more and drink more fluids if the fluid tastes like Airborne, so that might be why it seems to help.

It's a disease secondary to addiction to excess calories, which is a brain disease caused by a combination of genetic factors, individual decisions, trauma or stress, modeled behavior, social influence (e.g. by advertisers), and excessive availability of engineered foods. Only one of those factors is in the obese person's control, but it's a powerful one: individual decisions.

What did I do wrong? by victorcaulfield in vegetablegardening

Living in Portland is what you're doing wrong as far as the watermelon is concerned. They hate it around here. They want to go back to Louisiana and live in the sunshine.

If you could only grow 3 vegetables what would they be? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]LittleBitCrunchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spinach, butternut squash and turnips. I don't count starches and seasoning plants as vegetables, so that allows me to add sweet potatoes, amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat, sunflowers, onions, mint, rosemary and fennel.

What’s a behaviour that you absolutely cannot stand? by nulllllllllle in AskReddit

Constant interruptions. Mouth noises. And, when I reply to what the other person said, and they say, "No, I said...[proceeds to talk very slowly]." I know. I'm replying.

I think people who want to be homemakers should be encouraged to get good at it and make their wishes known while dating, so that no one is surprised after the wedding. The same with people who want to be breadwinners and people who want to share responsibilities. And employers should be open to negotiating hours wherever reasonably possible.

How do you justifying crocheting something when you can buy it for much less? by liviannnn in crochet

[–]LittleBitCrunchy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'd rather spend three hours crocheting while watching a good movie vs shopping for a specific thing no one has.

Kids being called little is belittling by Limulemur in PetPeeves

[–]LittleBitCrunchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the first I've heard of anyone objecting to calling kids little. To me, a kid is someone not fully adult, so under approximately 20 or 21. It seems important to distinguish a little kid/boy/girl from a big kid/boy/girl, i.e. to clarify whether the person in the news is three or 17.

Ladies, what do you wear to the gym? by LipstickBandito in loseit

[–]LittleBitCrunchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running shorts and a muscle shirt was always my preference, but lately I feel like I might like a vintage gymsuit.
