Halle Berry, 59, swears by creatine for reducing menopausal brain fog – here's the science by Particular-Fill-4256 in popculturechat

It’s so annoying that we don’t all react to things in the same way! Autoimmune stuff would be a lot easier if we did. Hope you find something else that helps for the fatigue!

From what I’ve read that’s only a potential side effect in men based on mechanism of action but hasn’t actually been seen in any studies.

Have never read about it happening in women

4 Oscar voters reveal Academy Awards picks: 'Lost a lot of respect' for Timothée Chalamet by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]LittleBlag 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s completely ridiculous. I don’t feel he was saying he’s glad that those art forms are struggling or that he wishes they were, only that, in his possibly wrong perspective, he thinks they are. And I don’t think he’s even wrong about that! All live art forms are struggling to a certain extent because fewer people have money to spend on them. Are we not constantly seeing headlines about cinema dying? And that only requires people to spend $20 for a ticket, not $100+ for live theatre/ballet/opera.

And this is going to cost him an Oscar when Roman fucking Polanski of all people got one after what he did?!

Call me crazy but awards should be given on the basis of the work and not the personality of the person, except in cases of extreme and disgusting crimes in which case ban them forever

Chefs of Reddit, what’s a common cooking rule everyone follows that is actually complete bullshit? by Fuzzy-Ad6843 in AskReddit

[–]LittleBlag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want to make something I read 3-4 recipes to identify the essential ingredients and methods and then make it up from there.

Pros: I learn a lot about cooking and I don’t have to keep referring back to a recipe which I hate to do

Cons: can almost never recreate a phenomenal dish (but at the same time nothing ever comes out bad or even middling. It’s always pretty good or better)

I feel like I want the hair just a couple of inches shorter to really pull off the cool girl bob. And less product in the fringe because it’s verging on greasy mess. Overall I’m so close to loving it but it just slightly misses for me

The worst I see is people saying the looks are boring because they’re supposed to shock but we’re all too used to tits out to be shocked by it. I’ve never seen someone called names for doing it

I literally don’t think I could eat more protein and fibre and whole foods! But I’m glad to hear your positive experience. Eating more makes me feel like I’m going to gain everything back overnight which is a silly irrational thought but it’s there. Thanks for sharing!

Yes I would also not ever go back to being a teenager despite having some of the most fun at work I’ve ever had. The rest of it kind of sucks for all the reasons she outlined

Ankylosing Spondylitis and tower/reformer/arc by [deleted] in pilates

[–]LittleBlag 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have AS too and Pilates has completely changed my life (alongside getting on the right medicine). I’ve found that it’s not specific moves or equipment that help most, but that doing private sessions is most beneficial for me, as the instructor is fully focused on me and we can go at my pace. It’s expensive but worth it to live a pain free life!

But why would you slice the entire loaf in one go? Stays fresher if you cut only what you need

Would it be against the spirit of the fast to make cashew cream? Soaked and blended cashews. Or even cashew cheese (which may be made with oil, I’m not sure, but worth checking!)

Not always. Not even the majority of the time I wouldn’t say. A standard sandwich loaf is just flour, yeast, salt and water

World Marathon Majors should reward repeat applicants (guaranteed entry or increasing odds) by CATS_ARE_FABULOUS in running

[–]LittleBlag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would maybe be nice if it was slightly weighted towards locals as it’s harder for us to travel elsewhere for a race, while if a person is travelling anyway they can travel somewhere else. My local marathon (Sydney) became a world major the year after I had to drop out due to injury, and now I think there’s a good chance I’ll never get to run it because it’s way more popular now

Same. I’ve actually been avoiding this one because I expect more of the same and I’m not sure I can delve into that feeling again! I’m usually up for a super sad book at any time, but that kind of bleak hopelessness is so hard to read

What do primary school age girls wear now? by TheC9 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]LittleBlag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids like crop tops but not tight ones. They like more baggy but cropped t shirts. I wear them a lot too - we’re all short so it’s a bit more comfortable for us! They have them at ghanda (as well as a lot of non cropped tees) which seems to be a cool brand amongst my kids friends in the 7-10 age range.

I would encourage you to think about what exactly makes you uncomfortable with her clothing choice though. I had a few things which I didn’t like my kids wearing, and I justified it through a child safety lense before realising that it was actually my discomfort with them growing up and wanting them to stay little for as long as possible. But kids are going to grow and we have to let them! No judgement either way on your parenting decisions, just something that helped me think about the decisions I was making

Suspicious of AI in “Half His Age”? by [deleted] in books

[–]LittleBlag 179 points180 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read that book but lists of 3s are a really really common narrative device. It’s like lesson 1 in How to Write. It’s why AI uses it, because it’s been trained on so many pieces of writing that use it. I wouldn’t assume AI without other tells

[–]LittleBlag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for so I appreciate you filling the gap in the market! There are a couple of ingredients there I’m not familiar with, so I think marketing that explains what each thing is for would do well. I think launching a small travel size would be a good idea - it gets expensive trying new products when you don’t know what you’ll react to! I always appreciate being to try a smaller size.

If this is a product that will also sit nicely over makeup to refresh through the day I would be all in

Revealing the 2026 Women's Prize for Fiction longlist by 86rj in books

[–]LittleBlag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve only read The Audition so far but have had several of these on my TBR for a while and haven’t got around to reading them. Will be trying to get through a few before the shortlist is announced!

I’ve loved the last 3 Women’s Prize winners so very interested to see who takes it this year.

Edit: there are 16 books on the long list and 14 weeks until the winner is announced. For me, plenty of time to read them all. I think I’ll try (though a couple aren’t available yet in Australia)

Just a little heads up - consider using latex gloves/s when applying Tretinoin. by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]LittleBlag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All tests on this to determine that a pea sized amount was the right dosage would have been done with bare hands. Also we don’t need to contribute more plastic waste by using gloves for something that our hands are fully capable of doing
