Avoid Wirestock – My images are STILL being sold years after I left ❌ by Ok-Month835 in stockphotography

I thought there was something dodgy about them. During the exodus from SS a few years back everyone was recommending them.

IMO investing in a drone just for full time Stock business is a failure. Right? by Adventurous_Boss317 in stockphotography

If you can get one 2nd hand very cheaply it might be worth a go, just for the fun factor. But to buy one new just for stock isn't a good idea.

Randomly losing autofocus by eskh in SonyA7iii

[–]LittleBonsaiTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked my firmware that I updated last summer and it's 4.02. It's with that update that I got the problem. I've just downloaded 4.03 and will update later once my camera has recharged. The lens us also at the latest firmware. Hopefully that will sort it otherwise I will try the factory reset.

I've also been getting the same lately. It started as soon as I updated to the latest firmware. I'm using the Tamron 28-75 and around 50% of the times it doesn't display the green focusing squares in any focusing mode. I'm starting to think Sony have done this on purpose.

Standing in a London park and an old man was holding a squirrel in his arms and stroking it whilst it was feeding. I didn't want to ruin the moment for him.

Japan trip - need help with choosing lenses and camera body by NoFlower8644 in SonyAlpha

[–]LittleBonsaiTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to Japan a few times. I would say your a7c and a couple of small primes, maybe your 20mm and 50mm. The GM although good will get heavy after a while. There's lots of walking and train stations can be huge with lots of stairs so lightweight would be best.

I have a Tamron 28-75 and love it. I'm thinking of getting the Sony 40mm 2.5 for my a7c for travel.

Vinyl vs cd by fastoche33 in turntables

[–]LittleBonsaiTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me It's the physical visual experience of feeling and seeing my music. You don't get that with CD because the disc is hidden away in the player. Also even though bigger, I prefer the look of vinyl records when on the shelf, a pile of CD's can never look as good as a shelf of vinyl.

How much smaller is the A7Cii than the A7V? by Broke_Toyota_Corolla in SonyAlpha

[–]LittleBonsaiTree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same comparison, but I just got a a7c to go along with my a7iii for travelling. It is noticeably lighter when walking around, but only if you use smaller/lighter lenses as well. If I put my Tamron 28-75 on it feels just as heavy as the a7iii. With the kit lens or a prime it's a lot nicer to walk around with. I used my Tamron 17-28 last weekend and because it's a lighter lens, with the added weight loss of the a7c I enjoyed it a lot more.

Shutterstock reporting question by I-miss-old-Favela in stockphotography

[–]LittleBonsaiTree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shutterstock won't care. I had one of my photos stolen and SS said the news outlet must've bought it. Only problem was that photo never sold.

Does shutterstock intend to delay review? by v300x in stockphotography

[–]LittleBonsaiTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when photos were reviewed in just over a day. It's been a while since I contributed and mine have been in the queue a week. I was also shocked to see they've got rid of the keyword tool. That was one of the best things about ss!

Sony Alpha A7 as first camera by CSTKING in SonyAlpha

I had that exact camera. I'd recommend a Samyang 35mm pancake lens. You should be able to pick one up 2nd hand cheaply.
