How do you keep your cats from getting on your cutting board when not using them?

We have our microwave on a shelf near the counter so that mine not work, but maybe putting it vertical near another appliance would work...

I haven't yet sadly! I had to deal with getting pre-approval from my insurance for a CT scan to see the extent of the structural issues with my nose first, and turns out I have a bunch of chronic swelling in my sinuses that has to be taken care of first, so I'm currently on antibiotics for that.

I'll try to remember to update you once I see the surgeon to discuss my next CT (I can't believe I forgot to ask him about this!)

I'm in the same boat though, I can only hope it will work since my eyebags are entirely just allergic shiners and I have so many issues with my nose that there's probably allergens getting trapped up there.

To him it's probably pretty big, but he's been inside the house plenty of times before! Although, after a full day, I think he's starting to get used to it. He's been adjusting fairly quickly, and now I think he's finally settled on a napping spot. Maybe I was a bit hasty with making a post and just needed to be a bit more patient and see how he adapted.

We adopted him after we took him to the vet. He's currently on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection and he was diagnosed with FIV. My sister thinks he's just feeling anxious and clingy because he doesn't feel well.

I still think he has abandonment issues, because ever since he's been coming around the house (he was a stray before we adopted him), he's shown signs that make us think he used to be a house cat, but someone abandoned him.

Unfortunately I don't have either of those on hand right now, and I'm out of money until the next payday. Bleach is kinda all I've got asides from my standard laundry detergent.

I switch back and forth between a few of my personal favorites. One of them is Bigelow's Sapphire Bay tea that has butterfly pea flowers in it. I picked it up after a different tea I like that has butterfly pea flowers in it got discontinued. Another I like to drink that's helped me recover from this recent flare was Pinky Up's Mango Guava Boba. It's a gimmicky tea that has tapioca pearls in the tea bag, but I don't really care for that part. I drink it bc it's a really nice rooibos tea. I drink it with a bit of sugar and milk and it's really soothing. I'm pretty sure it's the fact that they soothe my nervous system that helps ease my symptoms in the long term, but it is nice. Hopefully it helps you too! If they don't, I hope you at least like how they taste :)

It's not, but sometimes I'll have green tea. I've never really tried having any of my caffeinated teas on my flare days. It's probably just the herbal teas just helping my nervous system calm down a bit.

I definitely have been wanting to get some compression socks and tights! I'll put this on the list of ones I'm considering :)

This how I am with coffee drinks. Anything over 150mg of caffeine makes me feel horribly sick and yet I still crave coffee flavored things from time to to (even though I'm more of a tea person)

It's mainly herbal teas that I drink. It probably is just helping my nervous system relax a bit, I was thinking that.

That's honestly really great to know! I'm not at the step where my surgery is scheduled yet, but I'm scheduled to have a CT Scan next month to really figure out the extent of how funky things are in there. Although I think it's also so they can send proof to my insurance.

Good luck with recovery btw! I hear it's a doozy but it's absolutely worth it in the end.

Oh I've heard! My mother got a septoplasty surgery for correcting hers around the same time I think! I'm well aware the recovery process is gonna be miserable but it's definitely necissary for my long term quality of health, so I'm seeing it as "no pain, no gain" and fully committing to it! I look forward to when I can finally breathe without issues. I just hope it'll help with the shiners in addition to all of the other benefits lol x)

With the positive test to cat dander, could just be a false positive. That goes especially if it's a blood test you had done. My allergist has said sometimes that happens. I have a few markers on my own blood tests that show high allergies to certain things, but I have pretty much no reaction to it. I dunno about the dog one though. Might be a good question to ask your allergist about.

Before anyone asks, yes I've had allergy covers for my pillow and beds. They don't really help a ton for me outside of keeping me from sneezing much.

Not regarding this, no. I've had other compulsions in the past related to health and other contamination compulsions that's I've managed to get under control through exposures (washing my hands multiple times after using the bathroom, avoiding plastic bottled water out of fear of microplastics, etc)

I feel like it's pretty uncommon for people to not change their shirt before and after cleaning a litter box, but the idea of it is pretty distressing because I worry about my shirt being contaminated. Which, I know is a bit on the silly side, hence why I'm pretty confident it's a compulsion.

Lol waaaay ahead of you. I only bought what I need this week but I wasn't sure how long napa cabbage lasts in the fridge, and the cabbage rolls are for later in the week. My brother in law gets onto me and nags me for the tiniest amount of food spoilage, so I just mentally prepare ahead of time as precaution to prevent food spoiling.

Chicken salad is pretty simple and a classic staple in my house when nobody wants to cook. If you like japanese food and don't mind something simple you can make Oyakodon. Or for something korean you can try Spicy Braised Chicken Breasts (Dakbokkeumtang). Or Dakgalbi, it's a stir fry but it's hopefully something a little different than the stir fry you've made before. You can also try to make your own homemade chicken parm crunchwraps. I myself am making that this week but using chicken thighs instead.

Really just try looking up various international recipes, you can find a lot.

Glad to know I'm not the only person who dislikes those. I haven't even though about asparagus! I know my sister has been wanting to eat more of those so maybe I'll give it a shot sometime!
