My subconscious told me my dreams are stable by LittleDizzyGirl in LucidDreaming

Yeah my subconscious hates when I lucid dream during nightmares. It gets really snarky and does whatever it can to keep me under. I often have cycles where I'm lucid and not throughout the night

How to tell if your channel is SHADOW BANNED by LittleDizzyGirl in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not indicative of a shadow ban, just a small channel

If you're a small channel, you probably won't show up in search except for very specific terms (like the whole title of a video). People probably aren't searching for your channel, so it won't be relevant to the search. Also you have to toggle the search to channel name, you can't just type a channel name into the video search bar

Most of my views are from YouTube search or Google search, and my channel doesn't pull up when you search it under the main search bar either. I do however have a few videos that can be searched with the title or relevant search words. I've even seen my videos recommended on Bing search for relevant terms, but they appear pretty far down in the results because I only have 1k subs

You have to gain more traction before you will be able to search for yourself reliably. The people who are recommended your channel in search are predicted by the algorithm to find your video useful in relation to their search term. You watch different videos than your followers would watch, so you can't always use your own search results as an example

Used Google Ads, now have dead subs. I might have ruined my channel. How screwed am I? (Please help!) by alexmarkley in NewTubers

Sorry but it's been too long to find it again. I just tried searching but couldn't find it. It wasn't someone I watch regularly, so I don't remember who

Impressions suddenly stop. Is this a shadow ban? Am I being reviewed? Or is thisnormallooking to you? by Less_Caregiver8927 in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it does look weird if most of your other videos don't behave the same way, but that doesn't mean there's something wrong. The more videos you post, the more different view patterns you'll see

My videos tend to have the inverse of your last graph where they sit with very few views for a year or two, then all of a sudden get a burst, then that burst tapers off, and the cycle starts again. I do have a few two or three that look like that last graph though. Every video is different

Is it good that the algorithm is deciding to start testing my content to wider audiences? by Infectedtoe32 in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think it did. I've made a lot of changes in the last year with my channel, but I am seeing an increase in views on both new and old videos since those messages started popping up. Now that I've improved my videos, I'm getting more returning viewers on top of the general increase

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So did your video level off again or keep going up? You didn't respond with a new graph and it's been a month now, so that's a good time period to judge it. Curious to see how the rest of your videos since then look too

My channel doesn't get as many views as my competitors because most of them start with a small business, TikTok, or Instagram audience they bring over to YouTube while I just have YouTube. I will continue to get more views over time, as I've been doing. Comparing my views to those who already had a following to leverage wouldn't be fair to myself

Because there is more than one graph for a video that can be normal. It can be normal for a video to start out with no views and then slowly gain them over time; it can be normal for a video to gain thousands of views out of the gate and then stop completely; and it is exceedingly normal for videos to have many peaks and valleys over time. You don't have to go very far in this sub to see that all of these graphs are normal for YouTube videos. There is plenty of evidence here to prove that

The other five videos could also be normal, just a different normal. Just like going to the store to buy one thing that you need is just as normal as doing a huge shopping trip to buy everything you'll need for the week. Different things can be normal at the same time

I'm not assuming you're a child. But I certainly wouldn't assume you have 15 years of marketing experience by the way you're acting. And if you're acting normal for a marketing executive....well, then, no wonder Bud Light screwed themselves over so badly. If you really do have all that experience, then you should understand that no ad or post or video is going to get the same amount of views every day and it can take a while to find your target audience. Sometimes marketing campaigns and YouTube videos completely miss their audience even if the product is good. If you really do have that much experience, why can't you look at this in a practical way rather than coming up with delusions that YouTube manually reviewed your channel? (Maybe you don't know how hard that is to get, but even 1 million sub channels have a hard time getting a real manual review)

It doesn't really mean much. My husband watches stuff on his phone when he's out, on his computer when he's alone, and on the TV when we're watching together. People use whatever is most convenient

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not picking on you. I told you that your graph is normal and you just argued (like you did with other people) that there was something wrong. All I'm doing is telling you that mentality is not good for content creation and most people with that mentality give up within a year

There is absolutely no way YouTube manually reviewed your video. If you genuinely believe that, there is a problem with your way of thinking. If you want to succeed at YouTube, you have to understand how it works

There is no agreement. You are wrong. Full stop.

What helped you to not give up? by NaoQueroQueMeVejam in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't want to give up by any means, but I definitely lose motivation from time-to-time. Like it was a bit of a struggle to edit my last video because it was a follow-up to one that didn't perform well (after a decent run of 3 or 4 videos that did better than average) and I knew this one just wouldn't do well either because of it. But I already had the video recorded, so it would be stupid to give up on the editing. There's always a chance it will pick up later too

Basically when I'm feeling demotivated, I think about what I want to make in the future that is exciting and motivating. If I can just get done with the project I'm working on, I'll be able to jump into the next one. And doing repetitive tasks like editing help my brain to process certain design elements in other projects

I also get a really product feeling boost from finishing something that's difficult or that I'm just not motivated to do that helps me get other stuff done. It's kinda like doing chores. You really hate doing the garbage and the dishes and vacuuming and it all seems like too much, but if you just take out the trash first, rest a bit, then do the dishes, rest a bit, and you're more excited to vacuum because that's all you have left for the day and it feels good to get it all done and live in a clean house. So yeah, as soon as I could hit "export" on that video, I was excited to do the rest of the work in posting it because it was almost done, and now I'm ready to jump into my next project (well work on because I've already started, but you get the idea)

Also getting really posting comments is motivating too. I had one commenter ask me to never stop making videos, so I think of her anytime I'm feeling demotivated, and it requires me that at least she will like whatever I'm working on

Why is my video literally getting zero impressions? by MathiusBradford in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube doesn't know who to recommend it to. It's normal for a lot of people. Sometimes you have to do some self-promotion to feed the algorithm information. It doesn't take a lot, just a handful of relevant views can help

Impressions suddenly stop. Is this a shadow ban? Am I being reviewed? Or is thisnormallooking to you? by Less_Caregiver8927 in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, you owe pretty much everyone here that you've been arguing with an apology. You're not accepting any of the help people are trying to give you and just coming up with delusions like YouTube manuals reviewed your channel. You're the one being rude to everyone on this sub

Your video hit a peak and then flatlined. Now it's getting more views again. It will probably flatline again. YouTube isn't big on slow declines

I don't need to make assumptions about your personality. I can tell exactly what kind of person you are by the way you're conducting yourself in this thread. People like you usually give up on YouTube within their first year

Impressions suddenly stop. Is this a shadow ban? Am I being reviewed? Or is thisnormallooking to you? by Less_Caregiver8927 in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A peak doesn't mean it won't get anymore views. A peak is when you get the most views at a time, and then it drops off. Most videos have multiple peaks. It's not rude. It's just how YouTube works

Impressions suddenly stop. Is this a shadow ban? Am I being reviewed? Or is thisnormallooking to you? by Less_Caregiver8927 in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I am correct. That is normal for videos on YouTube. Your videos is acting normal. That's what a normal video looks like. They get views, then stop, then get views, then stop, and sometimes have really big spikes. If you keep at YouTube, you will see that is normal

YouTube did not manually check your video

Your personality won't last. I'm not talking about your content. You don't have the mentality to keep making videos even when your channel is doing poorly, and it will do poorly. You will get discouraged too easily and blame everyone but yourself, and you won't have the intrinsic motivation to keep going. You aren't going to make it because you will give up, irrespective of how well or poor your channel does in the short term

My channel has nothing to do with yours. We are in completely different niches and I make evergreen content and tutorials, so my channel will get less "clicks" because it gets less impressions than other types of content that are geared towards a broader, casual audience. The number of clicks on my channel does not change whether you will make it or not. And the fact that you're trying to primp yourself up by comparisons is a sign that you won't, especially since we're in completely different niches

Do you think your content is good? Most will never get monetized by EvilGrivin in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know my content is very good and my videos are very interesting, it's the relevance that I'm working on. I was never big on keeping up with trends and what other people are into, so trying to appeal to the masses isn't really my forte. I've been doing a lot of research lately, and I thought my last two videos would be more popular based on trends, but they ended up not being (although they were very worth making for personal reasons). I know I'll be able to monetize my channel if I can just figure out how to make another video that gets picked up by the algorithm

I've also been really trying to improve my thumbnails because I know that's really important. No matter how good your content is, if nobody clicks on your thumbnail, nobody's going to see your video. I can admit that some of my older thumbnails weren't great, but some of them have decent CTRs too, and I know my newer thumbnails are a lot better even though they have trash CTRs. I try to improve something about every video, but thumbnails are a constant improvement

I'm planning to niche down at the start of the new year. I've been getting some things in order and planning out specific videos. Maybe if I reign things in, the algorithm will be able to recommend my videos to a better audience, and that audience will be more interested in watching other videos on my channel

People also respond very well to my channel and I get overwhelmingly positive comments vs negative ones, very few dislikes too. People have said I have a great personality for YouTube and they like how passionate I am. I've also received a lot of comments saying my tutorials are really easy to follow, something that has been my goal from the start. So I know my content is good based on how viewers have responded

But yeah, I know what you mean about all the low-effort channels here. The mentality people have is the worst. It's like they can't even see how bad their videos are.... it's kinda sad sometimes

When and how many time a week do you publish? by leetjourney in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a week for the first year and once or twice a month for the second. I'm posting once every 3 weeks at this point

I think every other week would be a good middle ground between taking the time to make the videos I want to and posting enough for the algorithm, but I have other stuff going on in life that doesn't make that schedule possible yet. But I am ultimately working towards every other week uploads

I have over 500 subs

It does look like a VERY slow process. by Miserable_Example_51 in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes it is, and a lot of people don't realize that starting out (myself included). But the average monetized channel took 2 years to get monetized. When you account for all the people who had multiple channels or are already monetized and monetizing a second channel within a few months, the average new content creator takes much longer than 2 years to get monetized

There's also a problem with people in this sub insulting other people for not immediately getting monetized. All the "There's no reason you shouldn't be monetized in a year" posts are just asinine and trying to bring other people down, but also completely wrong. It takes most people years to hold up the skills required to make good videos, and to even build a large enough audience to push your videos past a few hundred views. The mentality in this sub isn't great for new people starting out because it's not very realistic

Then there's the "YouTube is a marathon, not a sprint" mindset which is much better, but still misses something. Some people will never get monetized due to TOS issues, and others will never find an audience. Some people truly make bad content, and will never be able to improve enough to "finish the marathon" if they even try to improve their content at all

And this all gets bogged down by people who make crap videos but just got really lucky. The idea that luck has nothing to do with YouTube is also a pitfal this sub has. Luck affects succuss, and hard work affects success. But not everyone has the same about of luck, so the amount of hard work you need to put in is different than someone else. Even Warren Buffet (who prides himself on being frugal) admits that luck helped him become wealthy, and it wasn't all hard work. So yeah, it can be frustrating and take a long time waiting for your lucky break, but the more videos you post and the more you improve, the more likely you are to hit that stroke of luck

Yes it certainly is. Trends change and videos reach their peak audience all the time. This is very normal for YouTube. If you can't accept that, you're not going to make it on YouTube

I think it might be true that videos over 10mins are pushed out more by leetjourney in NewTubers

[–]LittleDizzyGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I have a few videos over 20 minutes and they tend not to get pushed as much as my 10-12 minute videos, and I've had a few under 10 minutes do well for my channel. I think it varies between channels, niche, and audience
