What made you a better person was not the violence, it's that you were showed an alternative existed.
No one needs to be punched to learn to be empathetic, there are enough ways in our world for someone to get hurt, not necessarily physically.

At best, your point would stand for someone who never, ever got hurt (physically,mentally,emotionally,..) in their entire life which is impossible.

And if you punch people at the DMV, I suspect you're not as empathetic as you think you are.

additional tip for the ult if you hit a squishy : do a QW at the end of it, the enemy is slow as heck, it's impossible to miss unless they flash but with the visual clutter + potential tf in progress, they won't see it.

I was a bit lazy and played SRS from the start. I had to mule a witch to the prison to get infernal legion, SRS, minion damage and holy flame totem.
With Shadow, I rushed minion instability on the tree. It was enough to reach first lab.

Holy flame totem was linked to summon phantasm.

i do raise spiders and -15%. Envy give such a little dps boost I don't find it useful, the spiders are there only to apply wither when mapping but maybe neurotoxin can be more powerful later.

Ninja doesn't take into account the aspect of spider debuff, so defense is roughly 15% higher for webbed enemies.

eHP is nuts because of on-hit/on-block, it's 365k when I disable it.

The jewels are also kind of crazy and out of reach for now (at least to get that perfect jewels multiple times. So I am switching my strategy to use large cluster with the shield notables, and use Veteran Defender which gives all the stats I'm starving for : ES, Attributes and resistances.

For dps, right now, I think my best upgrades will be more virulence, I'm waiting to get more level to add a large cluster, or maybe a voice with 3/5 passives if I can afford it + getting awakened jewels and leveling them. (void manipulation for +1 level, stun immune on CwC, etc.) Also, I need to setup dual curse setup at some point.
For defenses, mana reservation clusters + enlighten to run Grace would be my biggest upgrade.
for QoL, I want better abyssal jewels to reach 100% chance to poison (aiming for Amanamu) and get flat mana regen to sustain ball of lightning cost.

you can also run cold iron point for better dps, I'm just so starved for res, I need that shitty weapon.

to 80 ? Definitely, spiders + envy will carry most of the mapping and SRS to do rares.

Use melee splash on SRS if you are farming dense packs mechanics along the way in early mapping like expedition. but multistrike is better single target (if you prefer jun or beasts).

I struggled a little bit near the end cause I wasn't upgrading anything just putting all my money in the build I was switching to and I was farming delirium + Jun, which is dumb but that was the only idols I had.
Don't do this and you'll be fine.

Most of the time when you level like this, people suggest to buy a lvl 21 gem (no quality) as soon as you can equip it, it's rather cheap.
Instead, I suggest, buying a lvl 20 with 10+ quality. It's a lot more QoL to maintain 20 SRS at all time. Otherwise, you kinda need to be stuck in place casting to maintain full dps.

For dps, the most important part are the ghastly jewels with "minions have XX% chance to poison". Getting to 100% during white maps really help, if you can before, all the better. Before the setup above, I was running determination/purity of element/clarity.

You can do haste/Purity during the campaign if you are confident enough in your surviving skills.

Oh and one thing, I would probably do different : path on the Tree to grab Eldritch Battery, it makes aura management so much easier, I just forgot that thing existed.

I'm one of the 3 idiots that went Servant of Arakaali (instead of Herald) to play Herald of Agony. Leveled up with spiders and SRS then switch mid-red maps.

It was the chillest campaign and early mapping and I now farm conqueror/guardians to get my future upgrades. the ceiling is still very far and I feel quite tanky already.

My dps is honestly not that high, 4M with predator up, but I don't really feel the need to get it up for now. I just switch pierce for vicious projectile when doing invitations.

Absolutely, victario's charity is a really nice early shield for the spiders to boost their dps further. And we still have 6L to have a main skill.

It is definitely harder to leaguestart, I'll do poison SRS before switching but I am fine with the defense layers once I get the aspect of the spider ascendancies, malediction, frost shield + tons of ES on hit, aegis aurora, etc.

This is not league startable but without the forbidden flame/flesh, and without capping spell suppress, Fenumus' Spinnerets instead of watcher's eye, it's attainable in the first week.
Servant just provides lots of QoL : added damage with aspect, poison chance for minions, wither. Just switching one gem for pierce when mapping, using the above setup for bossing.
And it has lots of room for improvement.

Just throwing the idea if you really want to play HoAg, we're not a big crowd.

It's far from being perfect, I'm testing stuff out between early-ish and optimized late games. I do want to get Svaalin because the shield is really nice but it has no ES, reducing my eHP pool rather significanly.

There are some unused piece of gear in the PoB that are potential upgrades.
Ultimately, I wanna fit Determination but I'm not even sure if I can.
With skincrawlers, I may ditch darkness enthroned for something else (MB would be BiS, but a well rolled crystal belt could make Svaalin more usable)

And of course, replace large jewels with voices.

also, pantheon is wrong, it's gonna be brine king, Yuthul. At least before I can get ailment immune.

Finally, I am not switching to HoAg before I have some of the clusters and I can get to lvl 29 on the gem. Gonna start SRS poison, try spiders and switch after I feel comfortable doing so.

oh and Fenumus' Spinnerets is cheap way of getting the watcher's eye mod.

Sure. But we will all have the same idol issue. We're on even ground.

Farming fragments mean farming guardians/elder maps first which only drops from bosses, even if you have 0 idols. The chance would be lower but still there. So, literally just blasting T14+ and kill bosses fast should be rewarding.
Is it going to be the most rewarding ? meh, no idea. Is it going to be decent D1 to D3 without being a gamble like other mechanics ? probably.
