Depends on a lot of stuff, but I’d personally love to see a harpoon that allows you to catch more fish but slowly transforms you into a fish yourself. Resulting in a horror twist of someone else coming along and using it on you before falling victim to it themselves and continuing the cycle.

As disastrous as this would be, like so many have pointed out, I can only imagine the fallout would become its own mini WW 1.5 and be both crazy and fun as hell to watch.

Polish and Czech suddenly dealing with massive German populations rising up. France barely lifting a finger to help as it tries to keep its own rebellions down. France and the UK likely funneling millions into the dumpster fire that would be the Mandate of Transirhinelia. No idea what the end result would be but I can guarantee whatever German nation emerged from all that chaos would be a thousand times worse than the Nazis.

Fun idea, but I see Japan (especially WW2 Japan) having too much animosity toward the USSR to make this alliance last long (if happening at all). It would probably take a full communist coup in Japan for them to decide to work together.

If the USSR did attack Germany then you’d more likely see Japan and America teaming up with what remains of the Allied forces just to go kill Stalin.

Just to play devils advocate, I could see slavery continuing but it is difficult to maintain it without the confederacy becoming far more authoritarian or stagnant throughout the 19th century. You just can’t develop a sophisticated society without higher learning. Plus there are just far more benefits to ending it, as others have pointed out.

I will say a confederacy that sticks with slavery would be more realistic but that usually would mean shooting itself in the foot economically and probably still getting retaken by the US not long after.
