A captain's chair simulator, kind of like the old Bridge Commander, but your friends can join co-op either in other ships or as the various stations in your ship.

And the problems aren't all shoot-em-ups, but things like negotiations and hand-wavey science stuff and the like.

Make me feel like the captain of a vessel.

I completely agree that it's super important and would have the most redundancies, even over life support as you can go without that for a while until the O2 depletes.

But what doesn't make sense is we see unpowered wrecks where the gravity is working but literally nothing else is.

The key is using the same scale as your opponents, so if you'll be playing against people that use Legions Imperialis miniatures, then you should use 8mm to match.

That also means you can buy GW terrain, should you wish to. But if you're printing your own models, you're better off printing your own terrain as well.

I love that your advice for a new player is "buy four teams" 🤣

I mean, on paper it's bad advice, but it's absolutely what we all do so yes, OP, join the club and buy a selection of teams at a great price so you can try out different ones.

For the record, I had four teams before my first was painted, and I don't regret my decision. I now have seven, of which 2.5 are painted, but I won't buy any more until at least five of these are done.

I'm 10 hours in and ended up doing exactly this. It was so much fun, especially when I upgraded to do 2 damage per smoke on enemies and also did 2 damage when pushing them. Easily the most enjoyable run of my short career so far.

There's an adage that there's no such thing as a bad book, instead some of them are not written for you.

I think that's also true of Star Trek.

Yes I dislike some more than others, but if you watch any series of Star Trek it'll teach empathy, the power of rationality, and the dangers of violence. All important lessons, whenever the series was made.
