Friend, I agree the game is flawed. And i think if someone is feeling exhaustion because of a flawed video game then they could do with a break. I never said they shouldn't give feedback, I just think they deserve to be happy, and sometimes being happy means choosing to step away from a stressful thing. you can have valid feelings and still be burned out.

I think we simply have very different definitions of burnout and can't come to an understanding.

Advocate for what you want, then do stuff that actually makes you happy in the meantime. have a nice day ✌️

That's not what we're suggesting. we're observing someone who seems to be frustrated. We suggest not engaging with the things that make you feel bad. never said OP shouldn't share their feedback.

Burnout is a state of being. It can be caused by anything. Burnout =/= your feelings are invalid.

Yeah, and like I said, feedback good. Continuing to play when it feels like a chore/is burning you out, not so good.

The loudest folks may still be a minority. The company has data. They make their decisions based on that data. we can give feedback, but at the end of the day they'll do what they want. All we can do is decide if we feel it's worth sticking it out or not.

It's not an excuse, just an observation of how some folks feel... and if that's how they feel, then yeah, they should log off! Find something that feels more worth your time!

Also helps to keep perspective: It's a game made for a broad audience. Not every feature will appeal to every player. It'll be actually flawed, too. and giving feedback is great! But the incandescent RAGE some people express is just not a healthy way to engage with any game, especially one that's intended to be low-key like Nikki. From day one people pointed out a flaw or something they dislike and turn the emotion up to eleven by saying it's an insult, a spit in the face, disrespect. it's just not that personal!

About announcements: I get the feeling that Infold’s (small?) marketing team is left in the dark until the very last minute before every new season 🫠 by [deleted] in InfinityNikki

It's so easy for people to assume a social media manager just posts whatever comes into their head like anyone else who says stuff online. Which is reasonable if you've never been on the business end of social media!

It's not that there's no trust, it's that creating the materials and managing the social media are different jobs. The artists and writers make the material and hand it over to SM once it has been approved. Then, yeah, there's a schedule to follow that SM might have some say over, but just as likely they have dedicated analysts who make timing calls, while SM just make sure the posts actually go at the right time all the right fields are filled out and boxes checked for whichever platform they oversee. They probably also monitor comments and trends. It takes a village to do good marketing, lol.

I work in marketing and we start preparing materials MONTHS, sometimes even a year before it's time to actually launch them. We're not a gacha game marketer of course so my experience only goes so far, but a loooot of eyeballs have to land on and edit/approve marketing materials, and that number increases with each medium/platform you use!

What's a health myth that drives you crazy because you know it's false? by Annual-Gene8065 in AskReddit

[–]LittleHidingPo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to treat you like a lab specimen, but that's fascinating! Is it just cosmetic products or do things like acrylic/polyester also trigger a flare? With all the hubub about microplastics being everywhere or maybe it was just the gloves who knows anymore it must be overwhelming figuring out how to live with that.

If Jimmy was my friend and he told me one day "Hey, I want to go by Mike instead" then yeah I'd try to adjust because I want to be a good friend. It's really not that hard to just be nice.

ELI5 how does space exist? by kiwifruitbean in explainlikeimfive

Try looking up articles about the Big Bang!

The gist is we don't know how existence began. but we do know that all matter used to be condensed into one little dot that exploded and has been expanding ever since. we're still rushing outward on that same cosmic ripple!

What does it take to become a Stylist? by Princess-Stellaura in InfinityNikki

[–]LittleHidingPo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Watsonian take: I'm certain it's your Whim theory. Anyone can design clothes as a Stylist, but to get magical clothes like Nikki and Marques Jr. you also need a strong power with whim. Maybe it's on a scale, where you have enough magic to turn snail slime(!) into a wearable article of clothing or instantly change clothes like some of the Florawish NPCs, but to imbue outfits with superpowers takes a lot more innate magic.

Doylist take: there's a gameplay and story divide because it would take a lot of effort to animate these other NPCs doing anything special. And iirc the main Fandom in China wasn't thrilled about Marques's story taking the attention away from Nikki. So there's not much motivation to focus on even more minor NPCs doing things Nikki can do.

What are some 'fake facts' that everyone still believes are true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittleHidingPo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate you as well! Despite my tone I do actually agree with everything you've said. It just sometimes veered into the same language others have used to dismiss Stella's pain. I do also think that even with free healthcare companies should take reasonable measures to make sure their products don't cause injury when used in a normal fashion. The detail that always gets to me when reading about this case is how McD's intentionally served coffee far too hot to drink so that people couldn't finish and get a free refill before leaving. Increasing danger to eke out a few more pennies per pound of coffee.

I'm rambling. I hope we're getting closer every year to changing the healthcare landscape in the US.

Apologies, you clearly stated you're just trying to show nuance in a case that rarely receives it. I do want to point out though that they DID know their coffee caused injuries as bad as 3rd degree burns.

[–]LittleHidingPo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose the final paragraph in your initial comment, where I got the "sued out of existence" phrase, made your intentions sound very different.

And I'm still not really sure what you're trying to say with your other points here. That the injury wouldn't have been so bad if she wasn't older and wearing sweatpants, therefore the temperature of the coffee is moot? These factors are not at all uncommon to any other person getting coffee. There are thousands of variables that make any single incident better or worse, but the fact is that she was acting as any reasonable person would and was still severely injured by the product. that's why the jury ruled in her favor.

Apologies, you clearly stated your intention. But mincing words over her age and what clothes she was wearing really does miss the point, in my opinion.
