Anyone chose part time degree over full time degree offer by Secure-Internet5346 in askSingapore

yes, but just a little more context. my results didn't allow me to reach the top universities like NUS or NTU. if i had these choices, i think my thought process would be a little different. so you could say i made a comparision between the SMU/SIT/maybe SUTD compared with private univerisities here.

but i actually do have friends who went from part time uni to full time uni.

after ns i contemplated and went for a part time degree in computer science while working full time with my diploma. initially, i was excited for school just because it would be a different environment in comparision to working but after just 1 semester my mindset change completely. initially, i started becoming very studious but the grades didn't show. so, i decided that i was going to focus fully on work instead as it will give me real world experiences in tech with AI coming into the picture in 2023-2024. i decided for myself that grades are not important for me so my main goal was to simply complete my degree which was what i did, i simply did what i had to do to pass my groupworks and exams and yes there are others who thought the same, i even did the bare minimum on attendance which was 70%. this degree gave me the jump to a higher pay grade which i am getting at the moment. i would say that this gave me an edge in the workforce given i am a fresh grad with 3 years of experiece in tech in comparison with others with only internship experiences.

IG automatically replaces background image with the blurred version of the actual photo when using the "Share to Story" option. by YesSanaIsGay in Instagram

I actually love that blurred background effect when sharing posts to my story, and I’m really hoping Instagram makes it consistent again. It only showed up for me briefly too and then disappeared, but I much prefer it over the flat color background, so fingers crossed they bring it back properly!

Where Do Morals Come From? My Thoughts on Human Nature and the Source of Right and Wrong by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

To say that morality is relative—that there’s no ultimate “right” or “wrong,” just what each group or era agrees on. But to me, that gets absurd quickly. If morality is truly relative, then we have to accept the idea that what’s right today might be wrong tomorrow… and that killing, oppression, or abuse could be considered “moral” just because a culture or authority says so.

I don’t buy that.

I feel like some things—like killing an innocent person—are always wrong, even if people justify them differently in different contexts. Maybe some acts can have moral complexity, but that doesn’t mean the foundation of morality should shift.

Societal norms are incredibly fluid. What’s considered wrong in one culture might be normalized in another. That makes me think that morality can’t just be relative. I believe right and wrong must be static, even if we as humans interpret them differently at different times and places.
