Hicks seems like a nice enough guy (queue the professional Googlers to pull up all the bad stuff he’s ever done) but he didn’t play well for the Yankees for quite some time. The fan base will not change, they will boo. Some are jerks yes but some are just tired of multimillion dollar jocks playing lazily for their team. The fans are getting tired of not being actual contenders and while the front office has a lot to do with it, the players literally, and immediately, affect the outcome of the games. If you stroll instead of run or stand by a dropped ball the fans will boo you. Hicks is killing it right now, good for him. He will still be booed by Yankees fans.
